1. This is a classic no less than "Band of Brothers", but unfortunately, the "Band of Brothers" occupies a milestone position, so this film can only rank behind the former in IMDB.
2. When making war films, no one will surpass Laomei for at least 50 years. It has nothing to do with technology and capital, but depends on world outlook, values and systems. In my opinion, the domestic rallying numbers are only technically chasing trends, but in terms of connotation, even Taierzhuang has not surpassed them, so from the perspective of war movies, Chinese movies are also terminally ill. 3. This film is even more anti-war than the Brotherhood. It depicts the destruction of human nature by war, whether it is physical or spiritual, more directly and vividly. This is the most valuable part of the film.
4. The film is as faithful to history as the Brotherhood. Even if there is a gang or art to shape the characters, it is for the overall artistry. Lao Mei did not hide the dazed, helpless and fearful cry of the recruits at the landing site. The hot war scenes, the broken limbs flying everywhere in the hail of bullets, and the scarlet blood gushing out at any time convey to the audience more reflection on war than simple fanatical war heroism. Domestic films, except for a few banned films, don't give me such a feeling of being loyal to history. More and more are the fake Dakong whitewashing Taiping! So, in my court, the forbidden covenant equals the truth. I would not recommend to my children to watch tunnel warfare, mine warfare, and plain guerrillas. The eight-year Anti-Japanese War is still the national army! When can we Chinese take pictures of our own brotherhood? ! 6. The title of this film is well done. Zimmer's soundtrack is still pretty good, but it still feels a bit worse than Brothers.
