The first five minutes have allowed me to set a four-star tone for him, the picture is very comfortable and the narrative is not boring. After playing it for nearly an hour, it was a four-star level in my heart, until Simon's secret was pierced, and the foreshadowing made before suddenly had a breakthrough, and the multi-line parallel emotional lines were collectively advanced here.
The family line is a collective outbreak of small conflicts that have been hidden for many years. The friendship line is the betrayal and deception exposed here. The love line is the underground romance that was exposed and forced to accept public review. In this outbreak, multiple emotional lines centered on Simon Much clearer.
The plot developed here, and finally told the audience: We don't care whether Simon is gay or not, the important thing is whether you are or not.
When forced to destroy the friendship of their friends, Simon has already jumped out of the identity of their Friends, and has become a betrayal of this small group. By deceiving and hurting friends, to maintain a lie, this is not their Simon.
When avoiding contact and communication with his parents and sister, Simon is also different from the son and brother they know. He is using a closed self to protect himself from being hurt by his family, but he is also hurting own family.
In terms of romance, the lover who left because of exposure gave Simon a bigger blow, made him feel guilty and sad, and also made the audience's curiosity about Blue to a higher level.
It's also the climax of this multi-line twist that makes me think this movie deserves five stars.
Friends will not leave you because you like men or women, as long as you are still sincere to me; family members will not be separated from you because of your sexuality, but will only feel guilty for not taking good care of you; and they are destined to be with you. The people who are with you will definitely come to your side against all odds.
Love, Simon.
