It is what it is
summarizes this movie with a line in the film that has been put to the protagonist many times-that's it! It is what you see, the details are moving, and the architecture is regrettable. The extraordinary old rock man is an alternative babysitter for his neighbor Xiao Zhengtai. The story is a bit old-fashioned, and it seems that the young literary and artistic people who are a little bit obsessed can use half of "Summer of Kikujiro" to insert half of "Notebook of Love" to describe a general idea, or it has another similar to "Scent of a Woman". The speech style is slightly clumsy and pseudo-climax. In the end, it was Bill Murray's appropriate acting skills, including his humming ending song.
The film's lines and words are Zhuji, and every effort has been made to show a reasonable tit-for-tat in every opponent's drama, which is both humorous and internally hurt. In terms of mirror language, it looks very particular from the inside of a single play; however, the short cheating in the play makes the film appear similar to the sudden change from the mother crying to the teacher and the principal to the two children who are complaining about each other, which is very abrupt. Because there is no clear arrangement of the progress and turning points of the emotional development of the "grandfather and grandson", the climax of Zhengtai's speech on Sente is a saint appears to be insufficiently based and more than sensational. However, the audio-visual completion of such a film that is not known for story creativity also just shows us the industry standard of the mature film market, which is beyond the reach of the increasingly "zero threshold" Chinese movie circle.
"Young and old" is definitely a cute and pleasing combination that can be applied everywhere. There are endless articles about conflicts of drama and comedy. For example, in "Little Sunshine Beauty", the round, heart-warming little chubby girl and the instigated granddaughter danced in the children's beauty pageant, and the grandfather who died by herself was too high. The charm of the "old bastard" lies precisely in "disrespect for the old" and unrepentant. Different from "Summer in Kikujiro" or "Central Station", children bring repentance to adults through a shared journey, which is the growth of middle-aged people; and the old people know the destiny, and what they want before they die is the willfulness to "do whatever they want". At the end of the film Vincent tried to pray before the meal but finally gave up, and Oliver's teacher asked students of all religious backgrounds to pray for Catholicism. This contrast is as stark as "the bell rang after school and the horse race started." If, in the end, the precocious Xiao Zhengtai announced that the search for the "sage" failed, and that Vincent was just an extraordinary but cute old bastard, the effect should be much better, that's it!
