About "Dogma95"
In the spring of 1995, a group of film directors jointly read out the shooting regulations called "Dogma95" in Copenhagen, and Lars von Trier was an important member. The Dogma Group is an anti-Hollywood film group that opposes the gentrification of film effects, and their oath is: "I swear in the name of the director to refrain from my personal taste, I am no longer an artist, my The ultimate goal is to find the truth in the characters and in the environment, and I swear I will do it by all means, including sacrificing my personal taste and aesthetic considerations." Their purpose is to compete with certain shooting traditions in today's film industry. A large number of movies are now on the verge of death. Because they pay too much attention to external things, they deliberately create false impressions to cater to the audience's interest, but instead drown out the real emotions. Immediate measures must be taken to erase all the "transformation" brought about by technology. To restore "story and characters", today's movies are too focused on special effects, but ignore the spirit of the movie itself. They advocate live radio, use hand-held photography, no post-dubbing, no filters, and refusing to use all methods that will beautify the picture.
DOGMA Ten Principles
1. It must be shot on the spot (scenery), and no additional scenery or props are allowed. If the props are necessary, you must find a place where the props will appear during the scene selection;
2. No additional sound effects can be added to the images (nor the soundtrack, unless the music is played synchronously during the shooting);
3. Hand-held photography must be used;
4. Colored images must be used. Special lighting effects are not allowed. If the scene is too dark and underexposure, you can add a "camera light" on the camera;
5. No filter can be used;
6. No surface treatment such as murder, etc.;
7. The story must take place in a modern environment;
8. Type films are not allowed;
9. The film format must be 35mm;
10. The director's name cannot appear in the opening and closing subtitles (production list).
