As for the sound, since it's a silent film, the sound effects and dialogues are all added later, so I watched each with the sound turned off and the sound turned on. To be honest, under such a premise that the content is rich, dramatic, and the actors are supernatural, the explanatory role of the dialogue has been weakened to the point of dispensation, right? The soundtrack is well matched, and it has a certain effect on the audience's emotions, especially when Charlie appears at the beginning and followed by a bear, it's great!
The performance of the actors... I don't need to say more about it. As an inter-generational mime actor, not only did he perform a poor little person, but also performed the optimism, humor and the gentleman's demeanor in the little person. God! Since it is a silent film, the performance of the actors will be slightly exaggerated, so I think Georgia's performance is very appropriate and colorful. All the other actors are great, perfect!
This show is basically the only film that Chaplin ends in a perfect ending, and some people say it would be more ironic that the film ends in tragedy. Well~ I personally think that many works I have checked are all tragedies. The contradictions and conflicts brought about by tragedies and the audience's expectations can certainly satirize reality, but who said that success is impossible? It's just that this criticism is buried deeper, and only those who have experienced it can empathize with it.
That's all I have to say, this is my first time posting a film review. Welcome to Paizhuan.
By the way, I'm so handsome when I was young! ! ! !
