The movie that I randomly ordered on the weekend, I watched it back and forth twice, and the overall feeling is still quite warm. The main line of the story revolves around the custody battle of a 7-year-old girl who is gifted in mathematics. At the beginning of the chapter, a handsome man appeared, I didn't recognize it at first sight, and then a certain Ming came over and said hey, this is not #CaptainAmerica. I'm mad at me. In short, this time Captain America played the little girl's uncle. They lived together for 6 and a half years until the little girl's grandmother found them, thus breaking their peaceful life (at least Captain America thinks so). The little girl's mother is a math genius, but she chooses to end her life by suicide, she wants to fight against the little girl's grandmother's control over her. And her younger brother, Captain America, is very heartbroken about his sister's fate. He has always escaped his mother with a baby girl, hoping that the little girl can live an ordinary life and have a good childhood. But the little girl is not an ordinary person at all. She is a genius. Let a person whose mathematical ability is comparable to that of a college student learn 1+1=2 knowledge. She feels extremely bored, so she openly challenged the principal at school. The little girl's grandmother appeared.
The grandmother hoped that the little girl would be brought up by her, but the uncle was unwilling, so the two went to court (as expected, Americans are quite different, the son and the mother are in court, so they can still treat each other politely). In front of the judge, the lawyers on both sides have their own strategies:
Grandma's side: The lawyer's first stage is to focus on his uncle's raising the little girl, not as he said, but to obey his sister's wishes, and his current economic situation has not brought a good environment for the little girl, and in some cases. The important choice did not give the little girl a better choice. In this passage, I actually touched my uncle, and you can tell by watching his mood changes; in the second stage, the little girl's biological father was directly found, and he asked his grandmother to raise the little girl. I really liked the questioning method of my uncle Fang's black lawyer. The simple presentation made the judge see at a glance that the biological father had never paid attention to the little girl. The grandmother's choice to use this to assist is actually a bit of a loss.
Uncle Fang: The lawyer here is a black lawyer. The play only mentions that there is no white lawyer available, so a black lawyer is invited to fight. But in fact, the ability of this black lawyer is also good. When the white lawyer on my grandmother's side asked questions about my uncle, my uncle was a little emotional several times, and he clearly sensed it and objected. When I asked my grandmother questions later, my grandmother had too much control over her daughter, so that her daughter had no living space of her own, only mathematics, so that the judge knew that if she chose to let her grandmother raise the little girl, it might lead to a tragedy in the future. occur. But the long statement of the grandmother in the back made people feel embarrassed. In fact, my grandmother thought she was being nice to her daughter until now. She felt that since her daughter had this talent, it would be a waste if she didn't cultivate it well. When I saw this, it was actually very clear.
After both parties went through the court, since they were not completely sure, they reached an agreement that the little girl would be raised by a surrogate family and that the little girl would be educated in an elite school. However, the little girl's grandmother is still secretly controlling the little girl, she misses her uncle. In the end, the uncle came to pick up the little girl, and the grandmother finally realized what she did wrong, but she still maintained her own personality, strong and courageous.
Of course, there are many other characters in this movie who are also well played, a group of good-hearted people, the little girl's teacher, the next-door neighbor, etc. The Descartes mentioned in the ending, I think, therefore I am (I think, therefor I am), suddenly reminded me of my math teacher in middle school, the first time I heard this sentence from his mouth.
Of course, there are still many illogical points in this play, but the central content that the whole play wants to express is worth thinking about. What you think is good for others is not necessarily what she wants. The fit is the best.
