The next generation is not a microcosm of the life of the parents

Just finished watching this movie on the recommendation of a friend. In addition to being moved, I couldn't help but think: Why are many parents always willing to pave a path for their children as they think, no matter whether the children are willing or not, and let them go?

A few days ago, I saw such a video on Douyin: The girl in the picture happily told her mother that she had passed the second-to-last test, but still failed. Many people commented: the quality of grades is often not as important as physical and mental health. I think that's what some of us parents are missing these days. They tend to over-pursue their children's academic performance and forget about the balanced development of their minds. Like the girl Mary in the movie. But she is lucky because she has an uncle who loves her, but in reality most of us are not.

Three hundred and sixty lines, every line out of the champion. Hopefully we can all have childhoods that don't build our lives into microcosm of our parents.

A well-established biopic of a genius character, Evans plays a former philosophy professor, and he is not enough, and the little prodigy has a few scenes that are too familiar, but overall they do well. The final shift from pursuing the ordinary to respecting talent is a little less convincing. The fate of three generations of female geniuses makes people feel emotional.

I'm very happy that it doesn't focus on how talented little girls are, but how to treat gifted children to help them grow. The whole is still warm, probably the result is that this cannot be generalized, respecting the will + reasonable guidance + full care is the right way

Gifted quotes

  • Seymore Shankland: Mary, you knew that the problem was incorrect, why didn't you say anything?

Mary Adler: Frank says I'm not supposed to correct older people. Nobody like a smart-ass.

  • Mary Adler: [in her counseling session] My best friend, other than Frank and Fred, is Roberta who lives a couple houses away.

Pat Golding: Really? What's she like?

Mary Adler: She's nice and funny. And I love her.

Pat Golding: That's nice. Is Roberta your only friend your age?

Mary Adler: Roberta's not my age. She's like 40, 50... 30-something. Roberta's grown woman? People my age are boring. Roberta's cool.
