As far as the story goes, "The Dinosaur" isn't a very good script.
To put it simply, the youngest member of the family was born timid and afraid, but after an adventure, he grew up and became mature.
It's just that the protagonist of such a character is not a human being, but a Thunder Dragon.
Counting Pixar movies, "Monsters, Inc.", "Toy Story", "Finding Nemo", "Robot Story", "Inside Out", etc., all show Pixar's unparalleled imagination.
This time, Pixar traveled back to the age of dinosaurs with the power of imagination: "What if the asteroid hadn't hit the earth and the dinosaurs hadn't gone extinct?!".
So, we see dinosaurs transformed into farmers, cowboys, etc., and humans transformed into "pet dogs". This kind of brain hole may be the factor that the film failed to introduce.
But we can't help but admire Pixar's imagination. Who could have imagined that dinosaurs would evolve into ranchers and cowherds? I am afraid that there are very few people who have this idea.
In addition to the extraordinary imagination, the most powerful part of "Dinosaur Master" is the display of scene special effects.
Aside from the silly and cute style of dinosaurs specially designed to suit younger audiences, it can be said to be extremely powerful in the production of vision. The extremely realistic distant mountains, the crystal clear rivers nearby, and the romantic and charming firefly bushes are all enough to make people look in awe.
After checking the data, I found out that the Pixar team used a unique and groundbreaking solution - asking the US Geological Survey for help. The National Geographical Survey has full-color satellite data and various forms of forest data and other historical material. Based on these real data models, the modelers made very large scenes, with vegetation, trees, and rivers.
Even if it takes a lot of time and material resources, the effect presented is absolutely no less than the effect of real shooting. If "The Revenant" is the pinnacle of real shooting, and "Avatar" is the pinnacle of motion capture, then "The Dinosaur" can definitely surpass those sci-fi special effects blockbusters and become a representative work of CG.
The meaning of "Dinosaur Master" itself may exist, and the CG effect may be far greater than the plot of the movie itself. "Dinosaurs" is more like a milestone in animated films. It uses real data for modeling to make the animation scenes look real. I'm afraid, this is what Pixar wants.
