Watched: Probably in January or February of 2016 A nice movie, with a complete and logical story, some climax and many humor scenes. Good enough to be a popcorn movie to relax. I first noticed this movie was from a trailer. It showed a very creative idea like what if dinosaur did not extinct, and the dinosaur society developed a number of agricultural production... However the movie is still a little disappointed to me, it just a common adventure story. The movie indeed has some creative ideas are very fancy, like the fireflies, and the tyrannosaurus, etc. Yet, it still is a common adventure story. A dinosaur boy, Arlo met another main character Spot, a human. They dislike each other in the beginning, but stuck together in accidents like any other story main characters always came together for many reasons. So they became friends, and started to find way home together, after overcame many difficulties, finally came to the happy ending: Arlo overcame his fear, and saved his friend Spot's life. (I was trying to type Alro became brave, but since the movie did not show any comparison after he backed home.) Also, I still did not get the ending about the footprint: why Arlo is allowed to put his footprint on the tower. In Arlo's family, having a footprint on the tower's wall is a prove honor of being capable of feeding himself (and help the family) Yet, during the story, we did not catch anything in scenes, that how Alro is capable of helping his family to survive in the coming winter. During the movie, we only see Arlo messed up so many things in the beginning, he did not finish any tasks given by his family, and even caused his papa's death. And after he's home, the movie did not give any scenes of accomplishes either. It is a missing piece of the movie. If Arlo did not finish any work, why he desire a footprint, and allowed to print it above of his brothers? Just because Arlo was lost, a lost child came home safe, so he desires a footprint? Then what about his brothers? They gave more to family, they helped the family all the time while their papa and brother Arlo were not around. By the way , the death of Arlo's papa very surprised me. I thought Papa was rushed away by the river, and he would also back home by walking by the river. So it comes really really surprised that when Papa finally appeared in front of Arlo, and it turns out it is just a dream. Papa already dead. :'( Another surprising point is Spot's family, and hell yeah Spot's family was really dead, he is not a lost kid, he is an orphan. So the human who called him from another side of the mountain probably have no relationship with him. Maybe they have, because we know people back in the ancient time like inbreeding. However, I prefer they came to adopt Spot is because they belong to the same specs, and Spot is still a kid. You know animal like to take care of cubs. And why I use the word of "animal and cub" ? Because Spot basically just has a human appearance, he acts like a dog all through the movie. Humen in this movie use nose to smell and identify things. When I was watching the movie, I was very wondering if Pixar trying to tell something or not? Why they made a human into a dog? But I think it probably just some American film routine: children and dogs will never die, and dogs always human's best friend. If a dog does not exist in a movie, it always has another character behave like a dog. Like in so much cartoon movie, the horse of Tangled; the snowman Ola of Frozen; Baymax of Big hero 6, etc. So it is ok to make a human into a puppy like character, since the movie background is the world of dinosaurs. At the last, I will want to mention about the artwork. Pixar always has pretty artist work, so many fancy scenes, especially comprising to the landscape view. But what's wrong with the toy plastic characters? This is not toy story 4, it really awkward to see a green dinosaur toy walking all over those beautiful landscapes. After all, it still is a qualified movie. After all , it still is a qualified movie, in many ways. And as usually, I should tell you already how did I judge a movie is good:It only needs to have a complete and logical story, some climax to catch people's eyes, that's all.
