Everything is fine except the special effects

Baahubali: Beginning of an epic movie, except for special effects, everything was recommended by a good friend and watched this Indian epic movie. I am still not familiar with Indian culture. The previous film reviews mentioned some points of view on musical films, and I will not repeat them here. First of all, I have to complain in some places. For example, the male protagonist's "prosperous beauty", the first time I saw it, it reminded me of Chelsea's Diego Costa. Well, although I don't like the little fresh meat that is too thin and tender, I still refuse this kind of dark and hard uncle to play a young man. Uncle Amir is indeed handsome, mainly because he has a baby face. However, it may be that the director pursued strong muscles too much, so he ignored the face. I have to say that although the male protagonist is a little curry, his figure is still very good. On the other hand, Uncle Amir has to say that his height is a hard injury (as tall as me?) There are also special effects. Friends recommended this is the pinnacle of Indian special effects, but in my opinion it's still unsatisfactory. Compared with the domestic anti-Japanese drama Wumao, the special effects are of course stronger, but it is still not as good as the ordinary domestic movies, not to mention the Hollywood level. It is estimated that it is only a TV series with a fine point in the country. Not long after the start, Shivaden's waterfall made me feel that the special effects were a bit pitted, and the chariot of Prince Baladiva in the middle and rear battles was even more powerless to complain. I don't think it's entirely the director's fault. The total cost of the film is only 169 million yuan, which is much lower than the cost of similar domestic films.

Since I mentioned the male protagonist's appearance and acting skills, let's talk about the female protagonist. Looking back on several Indian movies I watched before, I found that the impression of Indian women's low appearance may be a common misunderstanding among Chinese people. Personally, I still like the Indian girls and sisters very much. Some people may think that it is too weird to dance awkwardly if they disagree with each other. Let's help. There are not many songs and dances in the film, and the few places are also very natural. My favorite part of the male protagonist's flirting with girls is a textbook-level flirting with girls. It feels beautiful and cheerful when filmed. It was cut in the movie, but Tencent Video has special episodes that can be seen, which can be regarded as my favorite song and dance clips.

In addition, although the special effects are not good, the scene of the film is still very grand. The palace of the kingdom is very realistic. During the war, thousands of arrows were fired in unison, and the magnificent feeling of the roar of a hundred horses was also captured. In these respects alone, India is not inferior to China. The small scenes are done very delicately. For example, the beauty that the male protagonist sees when he climbs the waterfall is quite magnificent, and the small-scale battle of the female protagonist when he is being chased. My favorite is the method of flirting with girls mentioned above, and the last scene is subtle. drove the car. It can be seen that the director has been very attentive.

The plot of the film is not complicated, it has been modeled on Indian myths and legends, with the interpretation and imagination of future generations. The main line is very clear. At the beginning, from the perspective of the male protagonist, it tells the story of the baby being hunted down and helping the rebels save their mother when they grow up. The protagonist in the movie is a bit exaggerated and does a lot of things that go against the laws of nature, but fortunately it is acceptable. This is also understandable, India advocates religion and does not pay attention to history. History and myth are often mixed together, and myth is predominant.

As for the theme of the film, it is described as "the three views are very positive" in the more popular words now. For example, my favorite is the sentence "He who kills a hundred enemies is a hero, but saving one person is a god." It's the instant vision that our medical students swear by. The soundtrack is also very classic, which is also the focus of Indian song and dance films. My favorite is the one that sings praises to the kingdom of Mohismati, which is heavy and grand.

And in terms of epics alone, I think Indian cinema still has a long way to go. I don't have much impression of Chinese epic films, but there is still a big gap compared with Hollywood. The Gladiators, the Kingdom of Heaven, and the 300 Spartans that I have seen before are better than this Baahubali, and these are movies from more than ten years ago. But in any case, I am still quite looking forward to the next one, and I hope India can do better.
