Across The Universe--The Spirit Of BEATLES' Music

I think the whole film perfectly interprets the spirit of the Beatles' music, and the development of songs and stories is a perfect combination. The whole film is so gorgeous but also a little bit of a family affair. What, exactly, does Beatles music bring? This is how people feel! The only thing that I don't think is good is that the front and back parts of the film maintain the perfect MTV-style gorgeous and decadent style, but suddenly there is a strong opera style in the middle, although that part The opera also perfectly interprets the Beatles, but it completely disrupted my feelings about the whole film.

It was like I was enjoying the fragrance of small flowers and green grass, but suddenly I passed by a coquettish lady wearing a strong perfume. I frowned, unable to adapt for a while... But after all, this was adapted from an opera, and I understand that it is difficult to retreat from the figure of an opera... In general, in the era of war, they were rebellious. Their love, their loyalty, their pride, their hard work, and their beliefs... all made me unable to extricate myself from the curtain call of the movie for a long time.

Across the Universe quotes

  • Jude: What is that place?

Prankster: The headquarters of the league of spiritual deliverance!

Dr. Robert: The home of Dr. Gary, another outlaw, like myself. We're navigators, we're aviators, we're eatin' tators, masturbatin' alligators, bombardiers, we got no fears, we don't shed no tears, we're pushin' the frontiers... of transcendental perception. What's weird is, we haven't met yet, on this or any other plane.

Prankster: Hey doc, he says he won't see you, man.

Dr. Robert: Why, is he sick?

Prankster: He just said he's busy.

Dr. Robert: Did you tell that

    [sniff]

Dr. Robert: sonofabitch that we drove 3,000 miles to see him? Alright, everybody back on the bus. We're going home, to California.

Max: Doc, California isn't home to all of us.

Dr. Robert: What can I say? You're either on the bus, or off the bus.

  • Mr. Kite: It's me!

    [music blast]

    Mr. Kite: In the thing!
