Reincarnation piece that burns the brain

The movie is not very long, only about an hour and a half. But it was enough to burn my rusted brain. However, after some thought and collage of some fragments, it is enough to sort out the veins of the entire reincarnation.

The place to start starts with the car accident at the end. When the car accident happened, the bodies of Jesse and her son fell to the ground, but when the scene changed, she was standing in a world where the color was removed, and a taxi driver told her meaningfully: "Death took away Your son, you can't stop it."

Well, Jesse's son is indeed dead. What about herself? That's where the director's brilliance comes in, causing the audience to be divided into two factions. The samsara thinks that Jesse, like Sisyphus, is just as incapacitated as Sisyphus because he went out to sea and fell into a place where time has deviated. The Purgatory believe that Jesse was already dead at the beginning of the journey, but because of his obsession with his son, he refused to accept this fact and insisted on completing the journey. Everything on the ship is just a purgatory created by her deep-seated obsession.

So, let's start with the car accident and move on.

Jesse on vacation wears shorts called Shorts Jesse. And her home clothes are skirts, which can be called skirt Jesse.

Jesse in shorts thought he had escaped from reincarnation, so he ran desperately home, but he found a Jesse in skirt at home. So she killed Jesse in the skirt with a blunt object, wrapped it in a bag and threw it in the car. But after the car accident, the one who fell to the ground was obviously Jessie in skirt, and the one who was standing beside him was Jessie in shorts who was unscathed.

It's almost certain that Jesse in the skirt died in the car accident, and Jesse in the shorts is her obsession with vacationing with her son. But it was clear that the taxi driver was not an ordinary human being, but an incarnation of the god of death. He had been waiting for Jesse at the port, but Jesse didn't accept the fact that she was dead, so she didn't come back. So she really fell into the endless killing purgatory, with no way out.

In this way, since it is a purgatory created by the obsession of immortality, no matter what happens, it is not surprising.

Triangle quotes

  • Victor: [pointing at a picture of the ship] Check it out. This is the same ship. This thing's old.

Downey: Yeah, 1932. It is the same. Here's where we boarded.

Victor: [reads name of the ship] Aeolus.

Downey: Aeolus. Aeolus was the Greek god of the winds and the father of Sisyphus, the man condemned by the gods to the task of pushing a rock up a mountain only to have it roll back down again.

Victor: That's a shitty punishment. What did he do?

Sally: He cheated Death. No, he made a promise to Death that he didn't keep.

  • Driver: Are you alright?

    Jess: Who are you?

Driver: I'm just a driver... No point trying to save the boy, there's nothing anyone can do to bring him back. So... Can I give you a ride?

Jess: Yes. Take me to the harbor.
