I'm a "casually written" film critic with "self-cultivation". I will only introduce a few clips, and there will be no serious story spoilers. You can read it with confidence.
The beginning and end of the movie are well handled, with a bit of sluggishness in the middle. The two main lines of light and dark that do not seem to be directly connected are all connected at the end, and the 15min at the end is the real climax of the film.
1. I thought that Ronnie's mother was doting on Ronnie, but it was only later that she realized that she was a typical encouraging education. She encouraged Ronnie to live strong: Everyone is a miracle because we all know that what we have can be lost at any time, knowing the result and still living is something only a human can do.
The last note she left to Ronnie before she died: be a good boy. Ronnie suddenly understood the good intentions of his mother, which made him determined to eradicate his mental illness forever.
2. Sarah is a doctoral student who had to interrupt her doctoral dissertation because of an unplanned pregnancy. She complained about her child Lucy and reluctantly played the role of mother.
However, she realized in Ronnie's pain of losing her mother, and for the first time considered the responsibility of the role of "mother" and her importance to the child from the perspective of the child.
3. Brad is a lost househusband who failed the legal license test twice. Although he felt guilty about his wife, the breadwinner, he always felt that he was the one who was frustrated: his wife became less and less interested in him, and he couldn't do what he wanted to do because of the exam like a trapped beast. He felt his life was like a walking dead.
After winning the football game, he suddenly felt alive again: I can do anything, if I want to. At the last minute, he was encouraged to try his childhood dream of skateboarding, and just as he felt invincible, tragedy struck and he was taken into an ambulance. At this time, he realized that everything had to bear the consequences.
People tend to inflate themselves when they are victorious, but when they fail, only their family will accompany them all the time, just like his wife gave him three years to prepare for the law test he failed twice.
4. Police officer Larry retired early for the manslaughter of a teenager. In his heart, he always felt that unemployment was his greatest torture, so he had a bad temper and suffered setbacks everywhere in his life. However, after he rescued Ronnie, his mortal enemy, he discovered that it was his remorse for "killing" people that had been tormenting him.
These are all things that happened in a small town. Everyone has a life or story that he thinks is not ordinary, but is ordinary in the eyes of others.
Everyone has their own inner demon, which grows day and night by absorbing people's negative energy. However, it can also disappear in a blink of an eye: that is to be grateful for one's life and learn to be with others. Reconcile yourself.
Forget the regrets of the past, despise the current setbacks, and look forward to get rid of the inner demon that trapped you.
