"This is my story." "But also my story."
An extended version of Salinger's The Laughing Man. This is one of my favorites in Nine Stories. Plot: In order to save his girlfriend, Roy, who participated in stunts but was disabled in the lower body, and Alexandra, who was hospitalized with an arm injury: In the story, the slave, the guard, the bomb expert, the British natural scientist, the masked man, and the tree man joined forces. Against Governor Odias, Roy wanted to kill everyone, but was moved by Alexandra's retention and resurrected. In reality, Roy wanted to rely on Alexandra to take sleeping pills to kill herself, but was moved by Alexandra's retention and regained her confidence. Tricks: 1. Insert Czech stop-motion animation in the middle; 2. Insert real audio from time to time to tell the story; 3. The structure of the epic story is imprecise and blurred, with a peculiar beauty. For example, the Governor's fiancee was originally a replica of Alexandra and later a replica of a nurse. For another example, at first the masked man was the father, and later it was Roy. For example, the tree man's dentures mirror the previous foreshadowing of "because the soul is in the dentures".
