It feels like a paradox about believing or not

A lot of comments say it's a matter of belief or not, I don't think so. Since some people have been exchanged souls to show that witchcraft really exists, there is no belief or no belief. Many people commented that if you don't believe it, the problem will be solved. If you don't believe it, there is no way to explain the fact that has happened to the old man. And they think that if you don't believe it, you won't be recruited, and the opposite is that if you believe it, you will be recruited. Isn't that an admission of the existence of witchcraft? Seems like a paradox here?
