god of death

"Death is Coming" is a classic of American horror films. The concept of the film is very unique, which is different from the general American horror - there is no death in the film at all, and there is no violent scene commonly used in American horror, but through tension The music and the constant emergence of dark shadows, dark winds and strange ways of dying give people a sense of fear from the bottom of their hearts. The design of death mode imposes the impermanence and helplessness of life on everyone, and the audience can easily feel a sense of substitution; and the failure of the protagonists' self-redemption also conveys to the audience a deep sense of despair, and a sense of fear arises spontaneously. This film is a small-budget film, but it caused quite a stir after it was released in the United States. It is a rare horror blockbuster.

  • Isaac Palmer: [to Spa Technician] Okay, sorry. Do you come with subtitles?

  • Sam: You warned us. At the memorial service. You said death didn't like to be cheated.

William Bludworth: It's just that I've seen this before.

    Nathan: You've seen what?

William Bludworth: A lucky few survive a disaster. And then one by one... death comes for them all. You changed things on that bridge. There's a wrinkle in reality. And that wrinkle is you.

Nathan: So what, we're doomed to die? I mean is - is that it? We just got our lives back, so what kind of fucked up karma's that?

Sam: Are you saying we can't stop this?

William Bludworth: You were supposed to die on that bridge. You're not supposed to be here. You shorted death. So you let death have somebody else in your place, and you take their spot in the realm of the living. All the days and years that they have yet to live. And they take *your* place in death. Then the books are balanced.

Peter Friedkin: Wait a minute. We kill someone, we get their life? Is that what you're telling me?

William Bludworth: I don't make the rules. I just clean up... after the game is over.
