My understanding of the movie is not necessarily correct!

The whole film is actually a chicken soup of existentialism. Hank's way home is actually an answer to the problems of his own existence, survival and freedom, trying to find a way out from the void and contradiction.

The desert island is just a spiritual symbol of Hank's loneliness and intolerant of the world, and suicide is the beginning of the story. As Camus said, there is only one really serious philosophical problem, and that is suicide. To judge whether life is worth living is to answer the fundamental question of philosophy. In the movie, Hank told the corpse that he hoped to see beautiful things when he was dying, but only a fart corpse turned out to be a fart corpse; and this corpse actually represented Hank's self and the world that Hank felt by himself. Absurdity; and this absurdity is embodied in the film as Hank's humble crush, the early death of his mother, and the estrangement from his father. The conclusion is Hank's failed life, and then Manny, or Hank's definition of himself : Sad, empty, dirty, smelly, worthless, old, like garbage. And is there any need for such rubbish to exist? Hank helps Manny to recall the past, which is actually Hank's self-questioning and self-answering. It is Hank's search for his own life's memories and life's meaning. What kind of world am I facing? Is my life worth continuing? ; Just like in the movie, when Hank made it clear that he wanted to help Manny recall his life, the first question Manny asked Hank was also the first question Hank needed to answer himself: what is life!

And Manny's JJ becomes a compass, and what guides Hank back to the world is actually the life Hanny himself longs for! Manny had no concept of swimwear at first. The fundamental reason why Manny's JJ became a compass was not sex, but the possibility of Hanny telling him (himself) a better life; and as Hanny's self, Manny's The longing expressed is actually Hanny's own longing. In the entire middle of the movie, Manny, or Hank, is deceived by his own desire, that is, Manny thinks that he is a normal person, as long as he returns to human society, he can live an imaginary life and marry the girl on his mobile phone. (The girl is actually married and had a child); until when Hanny's cell phone is connected, he sees his father's birthday wishes, the fact that the girl he has a crush on is married and has a child, and reconnects with the real world; the lie is busted, Manny, or It is said that Hanni was once again defeated by reality, once again realized the absurdity of the world, and died calmly. In the face of death, the dialogue between Manny and Hank is Hank's real awareness and acceptance of the absurdity of the world after the disillusionment; Hank realizes that people are going to die after all, and realizes that the beauty he described to Manny is false Yes, realizing that Manny was nothing more than a brain creation, Hank finally admits in the face of death that the world is absurd and that a life doomed to death is meaningless. And then, Hank, who suffered the absurd truth of the world, began to bottom out. When Manny described death to Hank as the end of life, Hank vetoed it, and started his resistance, and began to explore the meaning of life, even if the meaning may be looking forward to meeting everyone's shit, life is worth looking forward to something happened.

To live to death, Hank rekindled the desire to survive, made Manny stand up again, chased away the brown bear that symbolized death; and finally forced Hank to face his goddess, because that is the real world; Hank Acknowledging the absurd also accepts the real world. And then everyone saw everything Hank created, which is to see the truth of Hank's heart, because that was Hank's journey of self-redemption; Tong Yan, everyone saw Manny farting away, in fact, it was Seeing Hank's real, ugly, and absurd self; everyone was stunned. At the end, the goddess only had the sentence "What the fuck", only Hank's father smiled and nodded, expressing his understanding of his son, giving Hank Ke and the audience left a warm feeling.
