"Gods of Egypt" (Gods of Egypt) is an Egyptian mythology fantasy film scheduled for release in the United States on February 26, 2016. The story is set in ancient Egypt and tells the story of the Egyptian god Seth taking over The throne of the Egyptian Empire and the ruthless and brutal rule of the people; making the mortal Baker, friends and the god Horus work together to save Egypt, beloved, and the two sides are about to start a man-god war.

Pinnacle Entertainment is filmed in Australian studios and distributed by Lionsgate Entertainment. Directed by Alex Proyas, directed by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Jared Butler, Elodie Yuan, Chadwick Boseman and Starring Courtney Eaton.

The casting and race of the film have caused a lot of controversy and criticism. Both Lionsgate and director Proyas apologized.

Lionsgate Entertainment has set the film to be released in the United States on February 26, 2016 (with 2D and RealD 3D versions). Lionsgate was originally scheduled to be released on February 12, 2016, but was later delayed to April 8, 2016; it was not until November 12, 2015 that it was confirmed to be released on February 26, 2016.

Molly Driscoll of the Christian Science Monitor believes that while the film's release dates are largely steady, it still competes with earlier releases of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Deadpool. .

In November 2015, Le Vision Pictures acquired Lionsgate for the distribution rights to the film in China.
