But the overall feeling is not as clear as the structure of Inception, but it is not impossible to call this the director's personal style. After a movie, the whole person feels confused all the time. Although I watched it in a movie theater, I always want to make people press fast forward constantly. Being immersed in this hypnotic world always gives people a sense of unease. The director uses this sense of unease to keep pushing people forward without distraction.
The front, middle and back parts of the whole film feel like they are spliced together.
The first part of Mcavoy's monologue as soon as he comes up, has the tone of a seasoned thief. With the end of the robbery, Mcavoy's conspiracy to be discharged from the hospital was revealed, giving people the feeling that what was introduced immediately should be a lucky escape from his accomplices, run away with treasures and then gather a new group of people to embark on the road of revenge.
What people did not expect was accidental amnesia and entered the second part of hypnosis. From the constant flashbacks of Simon knocking on the window and the heroine's tears when she found out that Simon really stole the painting for her, the director's sinister intentions began to gradually reveal. As the performance of "hypnosis" has become more and more psychedelic, the audience has since fallen into a more and more confused state. This is the most attractive place. The hypnotic blowing is amazing, the three parties are fighting wits and courage, and the hypnotic world, memory and the real world are intertwined, making people deeply immersed in it.
The truth is opened layer by layer like a nesting doll, and the shock to the audience is undoubtedly indescribable. Each layer seems to conform to the trend of the whole plot and the previous prompts, but it is completely unexpected.
