Similar challenges after Inception and Shutter Island

After the show, I walked out of the theater, excited! The person has left, but the spirit is still in the movie world... This kind of "psychedelic" state that has not yet recovered is the "symptom" of the movie being too good ~ "Hypnosis" is not only the film festival itself this year Favorite, even the best I have seen this year!

Danny Bohr of "Psychedelic Train", "The Countdown to the Sun" and "One Million and One Nights" has won an Oscar and hosted the opening ceremony of the London Olympics. (As an aside, I really hate the name "Opening Ceremony", what is it called "Ceremony"? There is a "Ceremony", so Yazheng, you don't use the word, so use "Ceremony"? I'm "Ceremony" you mouse! ) back to the film industry, also bringing his best and most iconic style. The script of "Hypnosis" was born to be directed by Danny Boer. Without Danny Bohr, it may only become a set of films that performed "Sneak" and "Unforgiven Island" at the end of the water. Because of Danny Boer, I even like "Hypnosis" more than "Into the Dead"!

Alright, to the point. Simple background, no spoilers: Auction house clerk Simon (James McAvoy!), the gangster of the inner ghost gang, Franck, steals a painting. On the way to stealing the painting, Simon is punched out by Franck, wakes up with amnesia, and the whereabouts of the famous painting is unknown. In order to ask Simon to remember the whereabouts of the famous painting, Franck asked hypnotist Elizabeth to help Simon remember everything. The three traced back to Simon's memory. The story became more and more complicated, and the truth was more than just a missing famous painting...

There are many hypnotic images in the movie, images with blurred memories, intertwined reality, and layers of fog. It uses a lot of mirror images and reflects these "phantom" pictures. The light and shadow are beautiful, and the plot of "chaotic memory, suspicion of illusion and truth" is a seamless cooperation at all! There is also the ingenious editing and use of soundtracks that Danny Bohr has always been good at, which is amazing!

There is a reason to compare "Hypnosis" with "Sneak" and "Unforgiven Island". Compared to "Stalker", I prefer "Hypnosis". "Stalking the Murderer" is a well-defined dream. Leonardo's group fights each level like a machine, and the audience follows his encounters; Danny Bohr confuses Simon's memory and reality in "Hypnosis" Lay out and hand over the suspense pattern, until the end, you will not know the truth. The moment I knew the truth, all the pictures came to my senses, and the meticulous arrangement was convincing and amazed me. This aspect is more like "Unforgiven Island". (I still like Forsaken the most, though, because it has the most thought-provoking themes.)

Helmet: The script is a little flawed, but I don't mind, Danny Boll convinced me with the cinematography! John Hodge, who wrote this script, worked with Danny Bohr on "Psychedelic Train" and "Psychedelic Beach", and cooperated again after 13 years. This kind of genre film that plays with narrative structure and film language reminds the audience in a trance that Danny Bohr will not let Christopher Nolan specialize in beauty~ Haha!

Come on May 1st, go see it!

Simon: [auctioneer is barking prices] There is a painting, it's by Rembrandt. 'Storm On The Sea Of Galilee', it's called, and he's in it. Old Rembrandt, he's in the painting. He's in there, right in the middle of the storm, looking straight at you. But... you can't see him. And the reason you can't see him is because the painting has been stolen.

  • Elizabeth: We keep secrets from lots of people, but most of all we keep them from ourselves. And we call that forgetting.
