The Edge of Seventeen was a pretty good comedy drama, if you're into seeing teenagers go throughout everyday life and realizing themselves. It's pretty normal compared to the lives of most American teenagers, so it's not really anything too new. The comedy is what really makes the movie though, with wit and sarcasm that actually makes you laugh, while the rest of it would probably make you a bit depressed. Woody Harrelson really made the movie for me to be honest; he was truly the funniest character and made watching this movie worth it. Because, as a teacher, I can completely understand how he relates to his students!
Growing Up's Edge is a great comedy movie if you want to understand the everyday life and upbringing of American teens. The content of the film is not new, and it is similar to what most American teenagers experience in real life. The highlight of the movie is the hilariousness, there are plenty of witty and sarcastic scenes that will make you laugh out loud, and the rest of the movie is less interesting. In my opinion, Woody Harrelson holds up the whole movie, he's the funniest character in it, and it's the biggest attraction of the movie. Because I am also a teacher, I can personally experience the subtle teacher-student relationship.
