"Best Party"

Nadine has an eccentric personality since she was a child, and suffers from the pain of losing her father as a teenager and the pain of adolescence that "no one in this world understands me". She met the kind Christa by chance, and the two have been inseparable ever since.
High school students Krista and Nadine were originally best friends, but Krista suddenly became Nadine's brother's girlfriend, making their relationship awkward in an instant. Krista tries to reconcile and brings Nadine to the party.
Nadine's older brother, Darian, is tall, handsome, and humorous. He is the man of the school. Despite his excellent grades, he had to attend an ordinary high school near his home because he was worried about what would happen to his family after he left.
The history teacher Bruna was the only figure in the school who could match the outspoken Nadine. Looking decadent and irresponsible, he can not only counter Nadine's cynicism with witty words, but also give her some understanding and comfort. When Nadine is troubled by various chores and has nowhere to vent, she will use Bruna as a trash can to spit bitterness.
Irwin, an Asian classmate Nadine met in history class, is a young boy with his own talkative attributes. Erwin found a topic to chat with Nadine when he had nothing to do, but Nadine didn't seem to be interested in this boy who took the initiative.

I love it, some of it is real. The translation name doesn't feel right. I feel that the focus is actually on the heroine's self-growth, although it is indeed with the help/pushing of others (friends/family/real life) to succeed. Apologizing to my brother was very touching and reminded me of some of my thoughts in a previous period. I also understood at the time, but I didn't have the courage to speak out and face it directly like she did. The actress is so good!

Hailee girl is very cute. The resonance is not too much. I understand the feeling of a good friend and a brother eating shit together, but the friendship in the film is rendered...not enough so that the audience may not understand the feeling that the heroine eats shit (but this film focuses on women. The part about the broken friendship in the introduction of the Lord's own growth actually accounts for a lower proportion than expected) I like the Asian little brother is too cute and the face of the little brother who just wants to have sex is also my dish.

The Edge of Seventeen quotes

  • Nadine: [writing a text to a boy she has a crush on] Nick, I'm just gonna say it, I like you. I've liked you for months. I think about you every second. I don't know, maybe I even love you. You're so complicated, but simple, and I just feel this connection between us, I feel like I already know you, and I just want to be with you. I want to give you head, I want you to put your mouth on my tits, I want to feel you inside me... We can do it in the Petland stockroom. - Nadine.

    [pause]

Nadine: Oh my god. Oh my god.

Nadine: [to herself] You sound like a fucking psychopath. You can't send this.

    [She accidentally sends the text]

Nadine: What? No. Shit... Oh my god. Oh my god, no way, no, no, no way, no. FUCK! Oh my god! Shit!

  • Darian: You're right about everything. I'm only here for me, and my life is fucking incredible. I love it. I love spending another night talking Mom off the ledge, I love only applying to schools nearby, because who knows what'll happen in the house if I'm not around to fix it, and I love...

    [getting choked up]

Darian: that the one person who makes me feel like I could take a fucking breath... I can't have without completely destroying you. So, you're right. You're right, it's a blast. I win.
