Last

year, a small book by American director Nora Ephron, "My Neck Makes Me Unhappy", was published in China. Because of its lighthearted and humorous content, it was loved by women of all ages.

Nora Ephron (1941-2012) is one of the most famous female directors in the United States, better known for her works "When Harry Met Sally", "Sleepless in Seattle", "Electronic Love Letter" and so on. The last film of her life was Julia Child, who profoundly changed the American diet.

When the 2009 film came out, Julia Child was dead and Nora Ephron was 68. The role of Julia is played by Myrtle Streep, and the two had worked together in an excellent film "Silkwood Incident" as early as 1983. Jolie's role is played by rising star Amy Adams.

The second

film is based on Julia's autobiography "My Years in France", but this is not a biographical film, and it is on an equal footing with Julia's autobiography and Julie Powell's "Delicious Relationship".

Julie Powell is a small company clerk, and Julie's boredom of life occurs not long after 9/11 in the United States. She found Julia's nationally acclaimed book, "Mastering the Art of Cooking French Cuisine," and planned to cook the 524 French dishes in the book once a year and update it on her blog—it was the age of blogging— , After a long time, there are many people's attention and follow, and later published a book and became a full-time writer. In the original book of "Delicious Relationship", Jolie also wrote about the living conditions of her friends living in New York, which was deleted in the film.

Julia Child is an American chef. She is an American, born in 1912, who was sent to China to participate in World War II during World War II, and went to the French Consulate with her husband after 1949. This is the scene at the beginning of the film, where she goes to a French restaurant and is fascinated by the food there. After experiencing a period of home cooking, the recipes in her hands could not meet her needs, and finally went to Le Cordon Bleu to learn cooking.

At that time, the French kitchen was dominated by men. Julia's study at Le Cordon Bleu was initially rejected by the men in the kitchen until they saw her hard work and dedication. (Why is the plot similar to the TV series "The Legend of the Female Doctor Ming Fei") But in the end, her graduation was still difficult.

At first she held a cooking class with two other wives, teaching housewives who love cooking, and then the three decided to write a book together. In the autobiography, Julia's meticulousness in the process of writing the book is described in detail. The French cuisine requires precision. She tried and tested repeatedly until a certain dish was successful before writing it down.

The book was completed a few years later, and it was discovered that the editor of "Annie's Diary" had a discerning eye, and it was published under the title "Mastering the Art of Cooking French Cuisine", which became a bestseller. Later, when TV became popular, Julia taught everyone how to cook on TV. Contrary to when she was writing a book, this time it was eclectic.

Four

of the two stories meet in the movie when Julie goes to visit Julia's kitchen, where she secretly puts a piece of butter to thank her for the change she's brought to her life.

In the actual meeting, someone told Julia the story of Julie, but Julia was a little unhappy because she thought that Julie wanted to be famous through her fame.

In any case, the reality of Julie's life has changed dramatically. After she wrote the first "Tasty Relationship," she wrote a second, about her becoming a butcher.
Julia Child brings the art of French cuisine to Americans. It is said that he was still active on TV and taught everyone how to cook until he was in his 80s. She passed away in 2004, and to this day Mastering the Art of Cooking French is still considered the best French recipe in America.

PS: This is the first food movie I've watched, and many details in it are warm and lovely. You can see Julia's love of life through food everywhere. In the future, I will also introduce two books of Julie's autobiography "My French Years" and Julia's "Delicious Relationship".
