Skyscrapers and fire rescue can be said to be a common combination in disaster thrillers. "Sky Rescue" is such a film. Its story takes place in a fictional building in Hong Kong, the "Pearl Tower". In the setting of the film, this building is the tallest building in the world, a quarter higher than the Burj Khalifa. One, there are 240 floors in total.
There are two main points to watch in this film, one is the black technology design of the skyscraper itself, and the other is the disaster scene raging in the sea of fire.
Before the fire broke out, the protagonist Johnson visited the building under the leadership of his boss (played by Huang Jinghan), showing various black technological structures inside the building. Among them, the transparent viewing platform on the top floor of the building is very stunning. The whole room is similar to that kind of transparent plank road. The bustling urban area of Hong Kong has a panoramic view, giving people a feeling of walking in the clouds. In addition, the top floor of the Pearl Tower is a spherical building with a very technological sense. Including the rooftop fight at the end of the film, the visual effects are awesome.
Personally, I feel that this is a very "unfriendly" movie for people with acrophobia. Maybe for people with acrophobia, the 3D effect of this film is still scary. However, I want to say that the visual effects of this popcorn chip are amazing!
The plot of "Sky Rescue" is very simple, and the foreshadowing is also slightly routine, but the selling point of this type of film has never been the plot. And this time, the screenwriter weakened Johnson's tough-guy attributes and made him play a disabled man who lost a leg in an accident. But even so, the one-legged Johnson is still Johnson. In the film, he climbs cranes with his bare hands, zips down skyscrapers, and fights against villain mercenaries... Several jumping scenes in the film remind people of the scene in " The thrilling scene of Tom Go climbing the Burj Khalifa in "Mission Impossible 4" is very interesting.
When Johnson leaped from the window of the building, there was a lot of traffic on the ground occupying the entire wide screen, and the sound of the wind created by the surround sound came from all sides, which was a good viewing experience.
Let's talk about the starring "The Rock Johnson". Those who follow him know that Johnson's works over the years are all similar action disaster films, and the characters are all homogenized and obvious tough guy images. Since the "Fast and Furious 5" in 2011, "Dwayne Johnson" has ushered in the second spring of his film and television career, and has rapidly grown into a new type of screen hero. After "The Fast and the Furious 7", Dwayne Johnson has opened up one amazing breakthrough after another. For example, this year, it has landed on the Chinese big screen three times, namely "Jumanji's Game", "Rage Monster", "Sky Rescue", and its next schedule is still very full.
As one of Hollywood's most lucrative and likable stars today, his charisma doesn't simply equate to his level of filmmaking. The Johnson-style blockbuster is essentially better than cost control, and the production scale of the second-tier is used to present the entertainment effect of the first-tier or even the first-tier. But the price paid is the space compression of villains and supporting characters, the perfunctory story, and the resulting slightly mediocre overall performance.
In addition, the film also presents many Chinese elements, such as the national treasure panda, the Hong Kong police, Cantonese news, Hong Kong reporters, the villain Kun Ling and the good man played by Huang Jinghan, etc., but some elements still contain Hollywood movies' stereotypes of Chinese elements. Second, the film's labeling of ethnic minorities and family values is different from the past, but the core selling points and plot routines of American personal heroism films seem a bit outdated.
But after all, this is just a popcorn flick of personal heroism, so let's just laugh off some of the grooves.
