fight for family

"Creed 2", as a sequel to "Creed" and a boxing work that shares a worldview and characters with the "Rocky" series, has shifted from the theme of "fight" and "struggle" in the first part to "family" On top of that, although the plot clues and character settings have been taken care of, the usual routines of boxing films and a slight imbalance in rhythm have prevented this sequel from surpassing the first work. However, when the classic music sounded, the big screen watched. When one punch and one punch hits hard, the whole person can still have adrenaline rush, which is probably one of the charms of boxing movies.

1. Fight for the family - part one

The beginning of the Creed line, after a placid boxing match, was a marriage proposal. After brewing the first part, the relationship finally blossomed. Bianca accepted Creed's proposal, and the two moved into a new house. Although Bianca's hearing gradually deteriorated (the continuation of the first part), at least in music The career is also considered to be gradually successful. The two even have children. Everything seems to be developing in a good direction.

However, the boxer Drago, who defeated Creed's father in the arena and caused his death, made a comeback with his son and challenged Creed with the gauntlet. With arrogance, Creed, who was arrogant to win back his father's breath, ignored Rocky's warning and rushed to the fight. Get beaten down by bigger and more powerful opponents.

And this is the beginning of the story.

Creed failed not only because he was not physically ready, but also because he was not mentally ready. He thought he was fighting for his father. On the one hand, this thought made him underestimate the enemy. On the one hand, he could not be a pillar to support him, and these made Creed almost repeat the mistakes of his father.

The first step in Creed's rebirth from the trough was the birth of a child. Bianca gave birth to a little girl. However, this little girl may also have a natural hearing impairment like her mother. Creed is taking care of the child. The original impetuous mood gradually calmed down in life, and he decided to fight again, but this time, it was not for the so-called father's honor, but to protect his family and to go to the boxing ring for this belief.

In order to be a better version of himself, he and Rocky came to the vast wilderness of the American Midwest for training. The moment he fell down while running and got up again, Creed was reborn.

2. Fight for the family - part two

One of the interesting things about "Creed 2" is that the so-called "villain" is very specific in this film. Unlike ordinary boxing works that only launch a big guy like the ultimate boss, this little drago also has his own obsession.

The opening scene of the movie is a few minutes without any words. Drago wakes up the little drago in the early morning in Ukraine. The two live in a simple house. During the day, the little drago does physical work, but at night, He became a monster in the boxing ring.

With his contract with Creed and the progress of the subsequent plot, we know that drago lost everything including his honor, his wife, etc. after being defeated by Rocky last time, and the little drago is to win this former glory back. boxer.

After knocking down Creed for the first time, the big and small drago was entertained by the famous Ukrainian nobles. However, the appearance of drago's ex-wife made the little drago angry. After all, no one can forgive the man who abandoned him when his family was at its worst. Their women, however, for the Drago family, in order not to let the tragedy of their parents repeat themselves, they must win the championship again and win the championship belt.

3. The ultimate battle of the family

The above-mentioned plot setting is actually still intentional. The two boxers, from two angles, are no longer the capitalism and socialism in Rocky 4, but focus on their own family, and one is to defend himself. The family, a family, in order to revive the once glory of the family, there are two battles in the whole film.

What's interesting is that the two boxers are also avoiding the tragedy of their previous generation. Creed's father died at the hands of drago, and drago's family was instantly down and down because of the loss to Rocky, and the time was up. Creed and the little drago generation, whoever loses, will face a similar situation.

In addition, Rocky also has a battle of his own, that is, the courage to re-acquaint himself with the children he has not taken care of and take that step.

In the final final battle, it was the family behind Creed that made him stand up again and again after being knocked down, and still flickered and moved despite the severe pain of fractured ribs. And it was also watching his mother offstage that made the little drago persevere, because he didn't want to let the attention he had won go to waste again, and also hoped that it would prove that his mother left them was a wrong choice.

So, when the little drago was knocked down again, his mother's departure made him lose his will to fight, and the old drago finally threw the blood-stained white handkerchief.

Compared with the victory of a battle, the integrity of the family is more important. There is already one less person, let alone risk another person's life for that breath.

So at the end, the shot of the big and small drago running in the cold wind of Ukraine contains a little reassuring warmth in the unexpected calm.

And also at the end, Rocky finally plucked up the courage to meet his son and grandson he had never met, and he also took an important step in his life.

4. Feelings and inheritance of spirit

The fierce punch to the flesh in boxing movies will become extraordinarily shocking with the addition of the big screen and high-quality sound, not to mention the classic soundtrack.

In this part, bgm and feelings are really spilled like they don't want money. It is unexpected, whether it is the comparison between the old work and the new work, such as father-son revenge, or the steps that Rocky stepped on, etc., the effect is Not bad, I don't know how long this feeling will last.

5. A step back from the first

Although many of the above have been said, the film is slightly better than the first in terms of the level and structure of the story, and many other parts are slightly backward.

The first is the control of rhythm. Creed's rebirth, which should have been the focus, did not give enough space, not to mention that Creed's pre-war training was very hot, but it took only 5 minutes of montage to quickly skip it, and with The first half of this comparison is too long, perhaps because the addition of drago double lines increases the amount of text, resulting in a slower rhythm in the first half.

Compared with Creed 1, the biggest change in this one is that the long lens is gone!

Creed 1 has several beautiful long shots, whether it is a pseudo-long shot of Creed walking all the way from the preparation room to the ring, or a smooth pseudo-long shot in the middle of the movie, all of them are very eye-catching. In this one, the long shot has basically disappeared, but the good thing is the stronger impact brought by the sound effect and a few good highlight moments, but the disappearance of the long shot still makes people feel slightly insufficient.

In the end, it is the inheritance of the plot. Yes, although I mentioned feelings above, Rocky's cancer, which was so emphasized in Creed 1, was rushed because of the focus on family. It's a pity to take it.

Despite this, Creed 2 is still a relatively good movie. Of course, it is a slight step backward from the previous one, but I have thought about the plot design. At the moment of burning, each character has his own love and hate, courage and fear, but faith is the same thing. The love for his family can make Creed stand in front of opponents stronger than himself and fight with fists. If I can't protect myself, how can I protect my family.
