Season 1 Episode 05: Unchained
Cal: Sure he is. Read your darwin. Survival of the fittest: It's not about being fit, it's about being adaptable to change.
In the fifth episode of the first season, about judging whether the gang leader has changed his mind or not, Dr. Cal Lightman said a word to Ria Torres' question.
Now it seems to be very very reasonable, Darwin's "survival of the fittest", adaptation is not the most critical, the key is to change to adapt.

but I was in Darwin I didn't find this sentence in the full text of "Origin of Species" published in 1859. I looked up Wikipedia: It seems that the original author of this sentence is Clarence Darrow (Clarence Darrow), which is hailed by later generations as American History. The greatest defense attorney ever.
This is what he said while defending Darwin's education system as a defence lawyer in the famous case "Scopes Monkey Trial" (1925).
The first time the phrase was quoted in black and white was in a 1987 congressional record on improving the quality of life for older blacks. But since 1997, this sentence has been misunderstood by the world to come from Darwin.

Season 2, Episode 5 : Grievous Bodily Harm
Cal: Well, all luck is earned, in the end.
But then again, luck is earned.
Cal Lightman's old friend Terry Marsh got him involved in a gang deal, and Cal helped Terry get rid of the gang and the FBI. Cal said this when Terry said he was a very lucky man. (Cal lost his parents since he was a child, and the Terry family took him in, although the Terry family had no extra room or even money. One day Cal and Terry got into an accident and were found by the police. Terry led the police for Cal and was imprisoned for three years. Let Cal escape by saying "You're supposed to use that brain of yours up to something, not be dragged down into the muck by stupid bastards like me")

Season 2, Episode 20: Exposed
Emily: You never trust anyone, do you? You know, that's why you'll always be alone.
This It was after Emily accidentally saw the paternity test in Cal's safe, and facing her father directly was like a question, a sentence similar to a joke. The paternity test should have been done in the early years, when Cal wasn't so sure that Emily was her biological daughter.
I have always liked Emily in the show, she is very cute. Love her round eyes and Alice's yellow curls. She inherited Zoe's pretty looks and Cal's keen instincts. I like her character the most. She is not only perceptive but also able to face the facts. She often points directly to Cal and Zoe's dead end, making them speechless. The dialogue between father-daughter and mother-daughter is often funny but also profound.

Season 2, Episode 21: Darkness and Light
Gillian: Do you feel like if you don't talk about it, that ... maybe it never happened ?

Gillian has always wanted Molly, the errant girl, to speak out about the pain in her heart, so that she can help her. But Molly has been unable to face the fact that she is HIV-positive. Gillian said this to Molly when she was courting her.
It is true that there are some facts in our hearts that we are unwilling or afraid to mention, but does not say it means that it did not happen? Facts are facts, and truths are always truths.
