Since its premiere on January 21, 2009, FOX's latest American drama "lie to me" (translated in Chinese as "A Thousand Lies") has only been broadcast to the ninth episode of the first season, but it has become popular all over the world. Based on a true story, the play tells a magical story: Lie detector expert Dr. Cal Lightman is a master at detecting lies, and can find out the truth by distinguishing faces, voices and physical features during investigations. A wrinkle between his brows or a shriveled lips, in his eyes, are the revealing of the other party's inner activities. He is more accurate than a polygraph, and nothing can be hidden from him. Letterman's prototype, behavioral expert Dr. Ekman has been studying human deception for more than 40 years. He is able to unearth clues buried deep in human faces, bodies and voices, and then bring out the truth and lies in criminal investigations.
According to statistics, an average person tells three lies every ten minutes when talking to someone. This is what Dr. Letterman said. Lying is a common phenomenon, but when people lie, they often show some expressions involuntarily. These expressions, which last less than a fifth of a second, are called microexpressions in the play, and are subtly "edited" from each person's expression. It is these subconscious micro-expressions that reveal that the person is lying. For example, a one-sided shrug shows that I have no confidence in what I just said; a shrug of the nose means disdain, a face covering with one hand means shame, a slight crooked mouth means contempt; the chin is raised when speaking, expressing anger, etc. There are also many real images of American presidents flashing in the play, such as Obama showing his middle finger (fuck gesture) when referring to McCain, which is a symbolic subconscious gesture with specific consciousness, full of hostility. Another classic example is when Clinton said "I did not have sex relationship with that woman, Ms Lewinsky" when asked about Lewinsky, instead of using didn't, and that woman, this is to deliberately pull distance.
Many lies are the human brain consciously tampering and packaging the truth for a certain purpose, and expressing the tampered "truth" in language. Consciousness causes its own emotional fluctuations in the process of tampering with the truth. This emotional fluctuation is difficult to control and difficult to capture. It will leak out in the form of micro-expressions, abnormal heart rate, skin galvanic response, and tone changes. Some people lie without changing their face and heartbeat, which is effectively suppressing or covering up emotional fluctuations. Micro-expressions, on the other hand, are unconscious and not made by choice, so they are uncontrollable and have nothing to do with nationality.
According to psychoanalysis, the unconscious exists objectively. It is also a subjective reflection of objective reality in the human brain, but this reflection has either been unaware of the subject, or was originally conscious, but after repeated repetitions, it has been transformed into an automatic habitual behavior. It also includes secrets, resentments, loves, and certain strong and primal passions and desires that we feel ourselves. These feelings are mostly unpleasant and unacceptable to most people. So it is suppressed and left the realm of consciousness, buried deep in the unconscious, so ordinary people do not know that they have these immoral concepts in themselves. But the subconscious affects the way we think, feel and act, as well as career choices, health and everything in life. As I said before lying, sometimes the subconscious is at work, not the liar consciously lies. What a person says may not be true, but it is not necessarily a lie. Based on his own experience and professional research, Dr. Letterman has summed up many methods for judging lies, including observing the speaker's mood, tone and posture, especially those micro-expressions that he can't help revealing.
Therefore, think twice before lying because your subconscious may expose your lies. If you don't think you're lying, your subconscious can sometimes cause you to lie involuntarily.

Finally finished writing, cross. I accidentally wrote too much, the original 800 words...
