The first hour and a half of this movie was really torturous for me I never understood religion let alone if it was a follower of a religion frowning thinking what the hell they were talking about but watching the whole movie in my head There is a feeling of clearing the clouds and seeing the moonlight

First of all, this movie gave me some basic knowledge about Christianity and made me a little progress in the inner world of people who are eager to understand the faith

The second sin in itself is not worthy of forgiveness. It is the one who seeks deliverance that deserves forgiveness.

Third "I didn't compromise I just changed"

Fourth, don’t deify the clergy too much (I just understand it from my own perspective) The way they choose to relieve is to communicate with the god and we choose to communicate with friends and relatives, etc.

The fifth sexual assault scandal was the trigger. Benedict XVI was not stupid. He stopped his losses in time and obeyed Jesus' instructions "Go". From this point of view, I don't think he is a completely conservative person because rationality and conservativeness have never been dialectically unified.

Sixth Franciscan sided with the poor and vulnerable to repeal that ridiculous agreement, endorsed gay abortion, etc. He did a lot of good things but didn't stand tall

Seventh, these two are so cute. They ate pizza and drank Fanta in church and danced tango together to watch Germany vs. Argentina.

I will watch this movie again and again and hope I can feel more power from this movie

I don't know much about what the Catholic Church and the Pope are like in reality, but I can imagine the real evils and ugliness, which are far from understated as the film shows. As far as the film itself is concerned, despite its many advantages, it is very much like a large propaganda film endorsing the Church and the Pope, providing an idealized answer to some controversial initiatives. The church is divorced from the secular world, so this film is also divorced from reality and is limited to artistic appreciation.

I like their conversations, not having to fully identify with each other, not having to compromise or change.

The Two Popes quotes

  • Pope Benedict: A Church that marries the spirit of the age...
