Father's Perseverance

This is a movie with a simple story structure that can deeply move people's hearts. The restrained emotions between father and son are always touched, and they are never overly sensational. The processing of black and white films did not detract from the film itself, but improved the quality of the film to a higher level. Imagine changing to color, maybe this will be another buried underdog movie.

Compared with "Much Ado About Nothing", which is also a black-and-white film, I feel that the necessity of the former as a black-and-white film greatly exceeds the latter. At least Payne won't include those close-ups of delicious food in his black-and-white films. Just like Payne wouldn't have filmed Life with a Glass of Wine in black and white.

Father is the absolute protagonist in this film. His crazy obsession with winning lottery prizes may just be a reflection of his hope that others will recognize and trust him, just like he always believes in others. The last son's behavior, buying a car, buying a machine, and even letting his father who hasn't driven for many years drive himself on the open road, just confirms this.
The father who has always been an alcoholic in memory, the last persistence made his son understand that he is actually a trustworthy father.
