"Living because of desire will never be truly happy". Being human means trying to live for ideals, not by how many selfish desires are satisfied, but by those tiny moments of integrity, sincerity, compassion, and even self-sacrifice. Because in the end, the meaning of our life lies in valuing the value of other people's lives.

Synopsis
Bessie (Fatty Win) is a journalist who is named to interview a death row inmate, David Gore (Kevin Spacey), for her principled and professional conduct.
David, a philosophy professor at a university, was jailed for a rape and murder case and will be executed on Friday.
All Bessie needed to record was David's last three days. On Monday night, she went to David's prison with intern reporter Zach.
Zach's imagination is richer. He thinks that David may be framed, but Bessie doesn't think so. She just treats this interview as a common task.
But on the road, Bessie found a car following them with a man in a cowboy hat. Maybe this interview was really not as simple as he thought.
On Tuesday, Bessie went to the prison and met David and his lawyer Bei Liu. Bei Liu informed Bessie of the matters needing attention in the interview, and took Zach away, allowing Bessie and David to talk alone.
David told Bessie his story:
David is not only a university professor, but also the leader of an anti-death penalty organization, and the victim Constance belongs to the same organization as him, and the two are good friends.
But soon David lost his job because of the alleged sexual assault of schoolgirl Pauline.
The fact is that at a party, David drank too much, Pauline had dropped out of school at the time, she seduced David to have sex with her, and then sued him for rape.
Although Pauline later withdrew the lawsuit and left, but in the eyes of the outside world, David was a rapist. Since then, he has been unable to recover, divorced, and his son was sentenced to his ex-wife.
In the anti-death penalty debate, because of quick success, David did not succeed, and his words were rejected by the governor.
David seems to have lost everything. He has ideals and ambitions but has nowhere to show them. His former friends are also scolding him behind his back, insulting him, and no one wants to associate with him.
Only Constance, she still regards David as a friend, but she is diagnosed with leukemia and will die soon.
Bessie was moved by the sincerity of David's words. Bessie began to believe what David said. She didn't believe that he would do such a thing because of David's relationship with Constance. She decided to find out the truth before Friday. David is innocent.
On Wednesday night, when Bessie returned to the hotel after the interview, she found the door to her room was open, and she immediately asked Zach to check in with him.
There was no one in the room, but there was a videotape. When playing it, Bessie found that the content of the videotape was incomplete. It was a picture of Constance struggling before his death. Who filmed this, and what was the reason for doing this?
Bessie was going to bring the video to Bei Liu, but she met the man wearing a cowboy hat on the way. Bessie suddenly thought of something. She was going to the crime scene to find the truth...
Video Analysis
The rhythm of the film is slow, the first half of the plot is too long, and it is supported by the tension created by the director to compete with time, but without such a long foreshadowing, the ending may not bring us such a strong sense of impact.
The content of the film is greater than the form, it is not good-looking, and the story is flat. The process of watching the film is like drinking red wine. The foreplay is boring, but the stamina is very strong.
The cast of the film is very strong. Needless to say, Kevin Spacey's acting skills are already the winner of the Oscar for best actor and supporting actor. What surprised me the most was Fei Wen's performance. The point that touched me several times was Because of her performance, she and Xiao Li Zi Jin Tong Yu Nv were now both emperors and queens, which makes people feel embarrassed.
Watching this movie is like being brainwashed. The director expresses his views through the characters and the plot, and the heroine has also undergone a spiritual "death penalty". She wants to change but is unable to change, the kind of cruelty and suffocation It may feel like real death.
But in the end, the "key of freedom" brought her back to the world. After being baptized, she may join the ranks of the male protagonist and devote herself to the ideals and careers they follow, and may be more successful. This is the male protagonist's purpose. , or possibly the director's purpose.
To go on in this world, people always need some support, perhaps love, family, or ideals and beliefs, and people are the carrier of all these. If you are the only one in this world, it is equivalent to losing everything. If no one recognizes you and understands you, how can it be different from being alone? Living like a walking dead is probably no different from dying.
The unknown is scary. No one can come back after death. This is why people fear death. But when the fear of reality and life transcends the unknown, what is the fear of death?
