Didn't realize that Sam was Spider-Man. . . Probably from the soldier's hairstyle. Tobey Maguire's acting here is far beyond Spider-Man. His dinner table scene, and Jake Gyllenhaal's table shooting scene in the opening, is pretty poignant.
The plot handling is a bit bland, especially before Sam returns home, and one can't help but think it's an old Pearl Harbor-like story. Until Sam gets home, the plot begins to climax, heartache and how the war is destroying a man and his family even with a Steel nerve, this heart-wrenching pain is overwhelmed by Ezabel's "why don't you stay dead" "The most ruthless exposé.
