Let's talk about space first. For such a cross-space (cross-species) love, the first thing that comes to mind is "Forest of Fireflies". At the beginning, I didn't quite understand the tears of "Forest of Fireflies", but now I can understand it after watching the City of Angels. In fact, in this respect, the two films are similar in purpose and effect, because they are different from human beings and cannot touch each other. With such a background, after experiencing the so-called "Platonic love", the two sides will always be eager to touch each other. The other side, longing for hugs, longing for each other's (intersection) from heart to body (this term is debatable). In short, if love is simply maintained at the spiritual level, it is difficult to deepen.
Then comes life. For some reason, I suddenly thought of a sentence, "People who are dying have a kind of wisdom that belongs to death." Since the hospital and angels are used as the background, life and soul are inevitably discussed. I am afraid that everyone who is a doctor, especially surgery, the closer to death, the easier it is to feel confused about the doctor's responsibilities. After passing and watching scenes of life and death, all the beliefs that once supported his entire spiritual world almost collapsed. This kind of rebirth is extremely painful, but at the same time, it is also a so-called bottleneck that must be overcome. If you can't learn to be indifferent, I'm afraid that being a doctor is not a very suitable profession.
Then there are actors, characters, and people. Although I have never known how to judge a person's acting skills, but after watching Seth played by Nicolas Cage, if it is not that he is essentially suitable for this role, it is that he played it well. What impressed me the most was his gesture of stroking people's shoulders, and the look in his eyes. When he stared at others without saying a word, those melancholy eyes seemed to want to penetrate into the deepest part of people's soul. If you are the party involved, I am afraid it will be a feeling of being seen through at a glance, and at the same time, it will be a little shocking. For the first time, I think his eyes are very beautiful.
Finally some questions. Why did the angels gather in the library? The choice of this location was not well understood for a while.
The above is just a feeling. In fact, my enthusiasm for writing film reviews has been extinguished by half after reading the end. It's not that I simply can't accept such a tragic SE, but I'm just a little disappointed in the ending that was almost completely expected.
