I've also read some of the reviews of the movie, and a lot of people are saying how Charlie is. But my thoughts are the same as some people: Charlie is his alter ego. The proof is:
1. When Barton was writing, Charlie said: Think of me as that wrestler. And they actually fell. At the end of the film, the CEO mentioned when he was talking about him: What we want is not the wrestling of a person's heart. Doesn't this mean that Barton wrote the process of his own mind wrestling?
2. Barton and charlie have never appeared in front of others at the same time, and Charlie also said that he could hear "Love Bird" next door. Obviously Barton is among them, okay? ! How can he hear? unless they are alone.
3. Barton said he passed out when Audrey died. He should have fallen asleep but said he passed out. Isn't this Barton transformed into Charlie and killed Audrey? Barton "passes out" again while dismembering the body and wakes Charlie to dispose of the body. And when Charlie woke him up, he didn't say "how did you fall asleep" but "you passed out again", which also means that Barton turned into Charlie to deal with the body.
4. The presence of two detectives reveals Charlie's past, confirming that he is a murderer, and when they handcuff Barton to the bed, Barton says "Charlie is back". How did he know? Because he is Charlie.
5. At the end, the girl asked who the box belonged to, and Barton said "I don't know". It's because he also realizes that Charlie could be himself.
These five points not only illustrate the relationship between Barton and Charlie, but also illustrate some other things. What is true? What is fake? Barton must not have come to LA to become this way. Since the hotel was a product of his imagination, it was inferred from the paintings on the wall that Barton walked back into that the hotel wasn't real either. The two detectives are naturally not true, they are a combination of negative comments on Barton from the outside world. Charlie helping Barton kill them just shows that Barton wants to live in his own world, and the ending also confirms that. Also, is Barton's uncle real? Barton had no family in LA, so he created Charlie. What he created in New York should be his uncle. Because on the way to create, he called his uncle and wanted to share his joy, but the uncle kept saying: "Are you ok?" After the uncle disappeared, it means that Barton has eliminated the self who does not agree with his present past, and he wants to live in a self-centered life. the center of the world.
The film review I wrote is just my YY, if God sees it, just spray it lightly.
