I ran to PB and watched the current version online. What is it called? Early access or theatrical version? There are not many actors in the world who can make me take the initiative to watch new films without minding the quality of the plot. Although PB has put on a cape and hood to play church people more than once or twice (see "Reckoning" and "The Da Vinci Code"), the appearance this time is still the same, except that there is a cross brand on the forehead, but after watching the whole film from beginning to end, it can only be said that it is so-so, so it is not impossible to watch it because I have been looking forward to something more exciting and profound. The plot can appear, but the result has never been, and it is still lackluster in the end.
The background laid out by the opening animation is okay, but the vampire is portrayed as a pure creature, which is a disappointment. No matter how pure a creature without thinking is, it will not attract the audience. It is a dead thing without a soul. How can a dead thing have room for excavation? And KU took on the role of a vampire agent by himself. The problem is that there is only one human vampire like him, and he is also a relatively simple-minded villain boss (?). Don't tell me that you can pour a little queen's blood on it. Daigo tank top is a new person. He only said one more interesting sentence from beginning to end, "They couldn't be purer." refers to the group of vampires who look like some kind of prehistoric cave creature.
In this background setting, the opposition between the church and the vampire world, the opposition between God and the devil, is constructed. However, repeated fighting scenes take up a lot of space, and any room for additional depth has been squeezed out.Regarding belief, it has not been able to go into depth. The group of pastors, the defenders of the church, has not been shaped well either. KU was actually not conflicted when he was drenched in the blood of the Vampire Queen, and in death he easily changed his face. PB is a Lutheran, can kick the church mediator if necessary, and betraying is easy. Why he left the church so easily is not very clear. The repeated nightmares have not revealed the truth, but it is likely to be misunderstood whether he is just because he wants to save his own daughter and avenge his old lover. The only hint of the character's complexity in the entire film is when he first shows off his prowess and kills a few vampires, when his daughter's little brother lover says, "I can tell if a person really likes killing people... That's easy for you." The pastor's past experience is also unclear because it may be used for ambush. And since the pastor was selected because of various talents, how could there be those three cannon fodders who came to Jericho City, who only played tricks and had zero actual combat ability? The church's leader, played by Grandpa Plummer, is also too thin, conservative, and cowardly, content with the status quo and attempting to maintain authority in the church city.Such a role is possible, but it is not enough to play a more important role than KU. The role (he could have played such a role) should be more ambitious, more secretive, and more patient. It is best to show the image of a wise man and an old person, so that the protagonist can trust them and finally have to resist. Such a conspirator character, isn't this more interesting than the one in the movie? Pure cowardice and conservatism, closed eyes and listening, there is nothing to see. It also does not create a big contradiction between promoting and expanding the plot. So the film doesn't really have much to say about it.
Why does the church keep vampires out of town? Without demons, there is no reason for mankind to fear; to remind mankind of the existence of demons is precisely to enable mankind to turn to God's agency on earth and to the arms of the church for refuge and salvation. Only in this way can the church become the ruler of the world and the ruler of the world. In a substantial sense, only the head of the church can become the master of the world. This is much more interesting than creating an image of a church that rests on its laurels, dares not face the truth, and can only numb the people with blind faith in the hope of maintaining that poor authority...
Nonsense again. Finally, after taking care of his wife and children, PB should hurry up and choose a normal and in-depth movie to act in. It is too wasteful to act in these movies (not long ago, "The Second Coming of Christ," "The Traveling Companion," "It's a waste of people"). I'm not interested in blockbusters. You can play a normal hometown literary film. Anyway, I don't expect a sequel to "Sea of Fury".
