is a good movie I watched in 2007. Won a number of awards, very British.
Stephen Graham was already dazzling in Guy Ritchie's 2000's Snatch, and is now more than justifiably remembered for his performance in that play. The odds with Guy Ritchie were still the same old-fashioned way, accompany others to auditions, only to be selected.
Director Shane Meadows is basically an all-rounder, from editing to writing to directing, he can afford anything. His movie map is basically locked in the easterly part of the Midlands - where he was born and raised.
In this semi-autobiographical film, not only is the director talking to himself, but the actor Thomas Turgoose—the 12-year-old at the heart of the film—acts so well because he is a bad boy himself. The director discovered him among a group of street kids smoking and drinking on the side of the road, and he initially showed no interest in starring in a movie.
There is an episode from strawberryswitchblade, a short-lived girl group. Just look at Smelly in the play to know the temperament of this band. But I prefer By the Sea, just like Dying in the Sun. There is a kind of lazy sweetness in the singing, heartless and leisurely, like sleepwalking.
Since Yesterday
Bryson/McDowall
Just close your eyes and then remember
The thoughts you've locked away
When tomorrow comes you'll wish
You had today
And as we sit here alone
Looking for a reason to go on
It's so clear that all we have now
Are our thoughts of yesterday
If you're still there when it's all over
I'm scared I'll have to say
That a part of you has gone
Since yesterday
And as we sit here alone
Looking for a reason to go on
It's so clear that all we have now
Are our thoughts of yesterday
Well, maybe this could be the ending
with nothing left of you
A hundred wishes couldn't say
I don't want to
And as we sit here alone
Looking for a reason to go on
It's so clear that all we have now
Are our thoughts of yesterday
It's so clear that all we have now
Are thoughts of yesterday
