It was the first time I saw a work that broke through the fourth wall, and it was novel and bold at the same time. It seems that jumping out of the dramatic situation and directly talking to the audience will make people dance, but in fact, it makes people more involved in the play. Because the character is like a real person, he directly complains about his inner thoughts, making the character more three-dimensional and real, as if it is a distance that can be touched.
Speaking of Fleabag, it is actually very short, only 6 episodes in a season; the suspenseful part of the plot is actually easy to guess, but the development of the relationship between the characters is really hard to predict. Every time the plot advances, I have a kind of guess that it will be like this But that's really an impression of what this character would do. Maybe that's the power of the screenwriter. Especially since the screenwriter wrote and acted, it's amazing!
The heroine's stepmother made a deep impression on me. The actor played a selfish and hypocritical stepmother to the bottom of the tree, which made people hate it (exaggerated haha). Checked out this actor and found that she won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2019. Although I haven't seen that work, I believe she deserves it.
When I was accepting Amway, I read a film review article, which said, "People always have to do two exam questions, one is who I am, and the other is what I want. The heroine is exploring the latter." After watching it, I feel that the whole film is talking about "love". What the heroine may be looking for is love.
Before watching it, I knew that the heroine's name was not mentioned in the whole film. After reading it, I actually felt that it was very natural and smooth, and there was no sense of deliberateness at all. I once again sighed at the screenwriter's greatness!
