hunt down barbarians

Hunting down barbarians sounds like a wild adventure story, but it's not, and there are no barbarians.

There was only one bear child, who was judged as bad by the welfare institution. Rebellion, stealing, spitting, running away, throwing stones, kicking things, damaging public property, setting fires, graffiti, fooling around all day. Adopted everywhere like a football.

There is also a quirky uncle who has been in prison, looks cool, and doesn't like to talk much.

The connection between them is an amiable fat aunt. She adopted the child, and the uncle is her husband.

She took good care of him, but he had to run away. She gave him a birthday, it was his first birthday, with the first birthday present, a puppy. She put a hot water bottle by his bed every night, and he was just a kid who was moved by a hot water bottle.

Unfortunately, this gentle and heart-warming aunt passed away suddenly. The child did not want to be sent to the juvenile detention center, and insisted on going into the jungle with the strange uncle. So, a child marked as a bad boy, an uncle with a criminal record, was hunted down because of people's imagination, and they started their desperate escape.

Not vulgar and funny, but refreshing and interesting. Not pretentious, but reflective. It's not unreasonable for the lunatic bushmen of the jungle to say that society is just filling out forms.

The beauty of New Zealand can be seen in the whole film. This slightly absurd story reveals a pure and beautiful innocence. We are not savages, but we simply like this primitive way of life, and we can do anything for freedom. .

Running away together, foraging together, reading together, that is the best time. Understanding, accepting, and never giving up are the best ways to get along.

The ending is very warm, with a slight smile and a touch of emotion. I didn't choose life, but life chose me. All I want is the freedom to do what we like with the people I like.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople quotes

  • Hec: Pretty majestical, aye?

    Ricky Baker: I don't think that's a word.

    Hec: Majestical? Sure it is.

Ricky Baker: Nah, it's not real.

    Hec: What would you know?

    Ricky Baker: It's majestic.

Hec: That doesn't sound very special, majestical's way better.

  • Ricky Baker: That's not very fair. Some people can't even have babies, and the ones who can, they don't even want them.
