Another discussion of war and heroism (just some general brief reviews)

In addition to cruelty to the witnesses, what is the truth of war?
People need heroes to believe in and make them believe that victory is within reach.

But the title of hero is probably just a form of suffering and insult to some warriors who once fought hard to survive on the battlefield, but still occasionally driven by instinct and died for their brothers.

People always crave more than the truth when they're stuck, and find the truth when they don't need it, wiping out the outdated hero. And rarely thought that some people always bear the weight of truth, just to let more people get out of the light of faith.

[A] The entry point is so good and so good. It was impeccable in the last half an hour, and was once again ruthlessly penetrated by Toki's realistic and cruel tonality. Anti-hero, anti-propaganda, anti-theme, use heavy war wounds to pierce the hypocrisy of all beings, and then give all of this to time, slowly stepping into an absurd and silent ending in the endless haze. As always, Dongmu threw the question to the government, used anger to attack the high-level, and left the most precious warmth to the focused individuals under the lens.

The three story lines are interspersed. No matter whether a "hero" is praised or derogatory, the strength of this national flag cannot be denied.

Flags of Our Fathers quotes

  • Captain Severance: Look, I've had to make a few other changes. I'm promoting you, to platoon sergeant.

Mike Strank: Thank you, sir. I appreciate it.

    Captain Severance: You bet.

Mike Strank: The trouble is, I already told my men I'd see them through this.

Captain Severance: That your James Cagney impersonation? 'Cause I've heard better.

Mike Strank: Well, I'll keep practicing, then.

Captain Severance: Look, this isn't your first time through this. You don't need to prove anything.

    Mike Strank: No, sir.

Captain Severance: You're not the *best* sergeant I've ever had, just the best one that's still walking. Block's a good man.

Mike Strank: Yes, sir, he is.

Captain Severance: The men know him, he can step right in. You know, I have actually thought this through. Platoon sergeant puts you further away from the bullets.

Mike Strank: I already gave them my word, sir. I told them I'd bring them all home to their mothers, which means I already lied to half of them. Can't lie to the rest.

  • General "Howlin' Mad" Smith: [on the telephone] I was promised ten days of shelling. You're giving me three and saying that's the best you can do?... I don't give a shit! My men hit that beach with less than ten, and I'll be taking them home to their mamas in buckets!... Yeah, I know exactly why. Because every Navy man with scrambled egg on his chest wants to offload us here and sail to Japan so they can be there for the big finish, tell their kids they captured the Emperor all by themselves. Well, you aren't going to Japan unless we take this piece of shit island! These little pricks are dug in... Okay, appreciate that, Jim. Three days is a fucking beautiful thing.
