First of all, let’s talk about the shooting method. It can be said that this idea is very attractive. David F. Sandberg is on full display in his award-winning short film series. Especially "Picture" will make people shudder. But after watching the whole movie, I found that since this idea can only be exerted to the extreme at night, the daytime part of the whole film is quite small. This will make people feel that the film is not particularly arresting, and it is inevitably a bit far-fetched, which will lead to horror films that are not as infectious as Wen Dao's horror films and some other good horror films.
Now let's talk about the plot part. This is a must to seriously complain about the director. Because, it could have played a good theme, but it was torn apart because of some fans. For example, at the beginning, the introduction of the little boy's father, who was killed, is very attractive, but after watching the whole film, I don't know any connection. Is it revenge for the boy's mother? I don't know at all. And finally, why did the death of her mother make Diana disappear? There are too many plots that are far-fetched and even unintelligible to the audience, but the director has not explained it clearly. It feels like a perfunctory writing of some terrifying and terrifying content purely for the sake of this technique.
To sum up, the director put a lot of thought into the filming technique, but he couldn't make up for the lack of plot.
