Humanity 101 - Antichrist

I think Professor Trier really knows mental illness. He can personally relate to it and present it so vividly that we all feel confused and irritated.

Professor Trier, your lecture made me so unsettled and I am so scared to this idea that I will definitely never watch this movie again. However, I still praise you for that no matter how certain amount of audience hates you, no matter what critics say , no matter how much you love Andrei Tarkovsky, you still made this shit full of disgusts that absolutely will torture the audience.

However, still. Thank you for your inspiring lessons. In art, you are unbeatable. This movie is really pretty and profound. I love it and this lesson is unforgettable for sure :)

The final subject about how people judge on Professor Trier's work, however, further frustrates me. People's judgement seems totally based on if they are tolerable and comfortable in enjoying Professor Trier's certain twisted fantasies. If Antichrist disgusts them, they hate it; if The House That Jack Built entertains them, they love it. I think, here, the evaluating system is very fucked up. Why all the students enrolled in this lesson are all so egotistical and addictive to sensuality. We need to look beyond that —— the message , the art. If my fellows keep in doing this, Professor Haneke will punish you one day forsure.

Antichrist quotes

  • He: What I understood, was that you wanted to write alone. So you could finish your thesis.

    She: But I didn't.

    He: You didn't.

She: You see? You didn't even know that.

He: Why did you give up? That's not like you.

She: The whole project just seemed less important, up there. As you said, when I talked to you about my subject: 'glib.'

He: I never called your subject glib.

She: Perhaps you didn't use that word, but that's what you meant. And, all of a sudden, it was glib. Or, even worse, some kind of lie.

    He: I see.

She: No, you don't see. You see a lot of things, but not that.

  • He: Acorns don't cry, you know that as well as I do. That's what fear is, thoughts distort reality. Not the other way around.
