You can't change the past, but you can change the future

You can't change the past, but you can change the future. This is my first reaction after reading it. Alexander invented the time machine to save his lover, but he can change the process but not the result. He wants to know the reason. So he went to the future, saw the destruction of the moon, and inexplicably went to a farther future, so far that human beings have been divided into two branches: the ground and the underground. The pale old man gave the correct answer: if Emma hadn't died, the time machine would not have appeared; because the time machine had appeared, Emma had to die. As a result, he failed to save Emma, but changed the future and saved the entire Eloi family.
As for the flaws in the film, in fact, this is also a flaw in time travel. It often expresses and explains many problems clearly, so it will seem illogical, but I think, is it still science fiction that conforms to our current logical thinking? Science fiction is originally a product of fantasy. What we can do is to minimize the loopholes or hide them deeper.
The two most impressive shots are at the end of the finale. One is: the picture is composed of the present and the future where Alexander lives. His friend (seems to be Phoebe?) said "his home" and Alexander said "my home". Phoebe really understands his friend, he's happy that his friend has found where he belongs, and I think that's true friendship. Also I want to say, Alexander's old butler is so cute, (*^__^*) hehe... And another shot is: Phoebe throws away his hat because his friend once told him about hats The problem, maybe he didn't understand before, but now he understands. This reminds me of one of Arthur Clarke's three laws: if a brilliant young scientist says something is possible, he is probably right; but if he says something is not Possibly, then he might be very wrong.

To see the time flies by and the surrounding scenery is fleetingly old...

The Time Machine quotes

  • Vox: Can you even imagine what it's like to remember everything? I remember this six-year-old girl who asked me about dinosaurs 800,000 years ago. I remember the last book I recommended: Look Homeward, Angel by Thomas Wolfe. And yes, I even remember you. "Time travel, practical application."

  • Über-Morlock: Come a little closer, I don't bite.
