Agnes has always had an obsession with unicorns. She believed that there were unicorns in this world, especially when she met the owner of the unicorn tavern, she became more firm about this idea. The one-eyed man with only one eye, he placed the horn of a unicorn in the tavern, as if he regarded it as a treasure of the town, and he did not allow others to touch it at will. He told Agnes that there was a unicorn in the Bending Woods, and it was rumored that girls with pure hearts could find it. After listening to the tavern owner's words, Agnes' eyes flashed with longing, as if she had imagined that she was in the crooked woods and successfully found the unicorn. She firmly believes that she is the girl with a pure heart who can find unicorns.
So Agnes made up her mind to go to the curved woods to find the unicorn of her dreams. However, everyone except Agnes knows that there are no unicorns in this world, and unicorns only exist in legends. Gru wanted to tell Agnes the truth, but when he faced Agnes' big innocent eyes, Gru hesitated. He was just euphemistically saying that maybe tomorrow's weather isn't the right time to hunt for unicorns. Everyone knows that Agnes is obsessed with unicorns, and how cruel and ruthless it is to be a fairy tale-busting person, even for the one-time villain Gru.
Agnes' fairy tale has not been broken, but I believe that even if Agnes is told the truth, she will not stop there. I have a hunch that she will continue to look for it, because for her, unicorns are the most noble dream and the most unique beauty, and this attachment will not easily dissipate.
Maybe the screenwriter can't bear to debunk the truth of the fairy tale. In the movie, Agnes found her unicorn, to be precise, a little lamb with only one horn. For others, the little lamb wasn't even whole, with one of its horns somehow snapping off. However, in Agnes' eyes, this little lamb with a broken horn is the most perfect unicorn in her mind.
In fact, don't we think of Agnes sometimes? What others do not understand or despise, is the most beautiful existence in our hearts, and this emotion can only be experienced by ourselves.
