If you're going to blink, do it now, no matter how bizarre what happens next, don't miss a moment when you open your eyes.

Under the eerie moonlight, a person holding a two-stringed piano and carrying a baggage with a mysterious pattern, crosses the boundless sea. At the beginning of the film, I mistakenly thought that this would be a mysterious and thrilling adventure.

The daughter of the Moon God fell in love with Hanzo, a powerful mortal warrior, and gave birth to Kubo. The betrayal of her daughter made the Moon God furious, and sent someone to hunt down Hanzo and took off one of Kubo's eyes. Hanzo and his subordinates protected Kubo. The mother and son died, and the mother fled with her mother and went into seclusion to a village by the sea.

When he grew up, Kubo went to the market during the day to play the two-stringed qin, and returned to the cave at night to take care of his mother. However, in a festival to commemorate his relatives, in order to wait for his father's response, Kubo forgot his mother's instructions to never be exposed to the moonlight, and was discovered by the moon god. .

Kubo embarked on a journey of escape. While looking for weapons and fighting enemies, he gained psychological growth and long-lost family affection. It turns out that the monkey who has been guarding Kubo's side is the pouring of his mother's soul, while the cursed Beetle Samurai who met on the road is Hanzo whose memory has been erased. The cruel Moon God eventually killed Kubo Monkey and Beetle, Kubo returned to the village and defeated the Moon God with the two-stringed lute.

It's a clichéd Hollywood plot, but I kind of like it.

For example, Kubo heard the old grandmother say that by lighting a lantern and placing it on the altar, the souls of relatives will light the lantern, and then they can talk to them. His father always lived in the story of his mother, and Kubo's eyes lit up. When other people's lanterns were slowly lit, and the sun was setting, people put the lanterns into the river and sent them back to the land of bliss, Kubo lowered his head and guarded the lantern, his emotions changed from excitement to disappointment, the sun went down, he was angry Crushing the lantern, he said stubbornly: Forget it, I don't need it anyway. After running a few steps, he still turned around to smooth the lantern and apologized in a low voice. This is the most frank and affectionate love a child can give to a father he has never met.

Many people say that this animated film tells the story in the garb of oriental culture, the lights on the river during the Obon Festival, the origami culture that haunts from beginning to end, the forest scene is similar to Totoro, and the lights of the market are also like Spirited Away. smell. And the monkey was on the road of adventure. When Kubo was a little proud, she said to Kubo: You are getting stronger and stronger, and the more powerful you are, the more dangerous you are. When crossing the long sea, because you know the danger, the monkey and the beetle argue, and you must not swim over it. , all directly portrayed the image of a strict and protective mother, and bit by bit also reflected the oriental view of education.

After five years, Kubo alone has more than 4,000 facial expressions, incorporating many Japanese elements: kimonos, river lights, night scenes, Ukiyo-e... Watching this animated movie is also a beautiful enjoyment, but it is a little bit for me. The monkey hair and Kubo's feet, which appeared twice, drove me a little crazy, but that didn't stop me from including this movie as my favorite.

I don't know what I'm doing during this time. I haven't watched a movie for a long time. Of course, I know that my film review is a mess. So, as compensation, I recommend another movie - "Hundred Days of Red", Through the Ukiyo painter Hokusai family, it shows the customs and customs of the Edo period and the epitome of the life of the painters in the Edo period. It is their creative spirit that integrates painting into life and left the amazing Ukiyo-e to this day.
