A boy named kubo was chased by his grandfather and aunt forced to hide in a cave with his mother. His father died to protect him, but he still lost one eye. Later, his mother also disappeared to protect him. To defeat his grandfather, kobo set out on a quest for armor and weapons, accompanied by a monkey and a beetle. It turns out that the monkey is the mother and the beetle is the father. But, unexpectedly, it was not the two weapons that defeated the grandfather, but the piano and the three strings of kobo. The story tells us that on the road to growth, mom and dad are the most reliable guardians in the beginning, protecting us to overcome the difficulties . But they will one day grow old and die, then leave us forever. We only have to learn to face difficulties and solve problems alone, then we can get real growth. What is the most important is that even if the person you love is away from you, your thoughts and love for each other will make you stronger.

Skill 10 Creativity 8.5 Plot 7 With rapid prototyping and 3d printing technology, stop-motion animations no longer need to be colored one by one, so Kubo has 11,007 mouth movements... awesome! The action scenes are very clean and tidy (some of them are even a little scary), but the emotional part looks quite satisfactory and the waves part is also really stunning without relying on CG!

Kubo and the Two Strings quotes

  • Monkey: You have questions, I can tell.

    Kubo: Who...

    Monkey: You get three.

Kubo: I think I have more.

Monkey: Three. But first you're gonna eat.

    Kubo: Why only three?

Monkey: Okay, that was your first question.

    Kubo: What?

  • Beetle: I have a feeling this is my destiny.

Monkey: No, it isn't! We can't trust anything you say, because *you* can't trust anything you say.
