biological science fiction

Well, I've always been resistant to biological sci-fi movies. Because I think death by infection is the most terrifying way to die that I have ever thought of, something like being drowned in water, being bombarded to death, or being eaten by dinosaurs, because science fiction films of this type of death have a specific object of confrontation, in other words, I just need to concentrate on fighting monsters!

However, infection is different. It is a process of disintegrating you from the inside. Just like what Newt wrote to Thomas in the last letter, what people fear most is to lose their memory and lose their position in the end, to hurt the one who once guarded and loved ones.

Infection and non-infection have created divisions within people and shaped a new sense of existence.

  • Thomas: There's no guarantee we'll make it back from this.

Newt: But we started it together, we might as well end it that way too.

  • Thomas: Do you regret it? What you did to us?

Teresa: Sometimes. But I did what I thought was right.
