Plant the Seed of a Dream (2016)

Before watching this movie, I didn't know about Philip Pat's deeds, and I didn't watch the 2008 version of The Tightrope Walker, so after sitting in the movie theater alone and watching this not-so-popular movie, I was deeply impressed. Shocked! This kind of life is so dick! Still a true story! Sure enough, real life is always more exciting than movies. The key is whether we have the courage to pursue that unrealistic dream in our hearts? When Philip was determined to walk a tightrope on the twin towers in New York, the tallest in the world at the time, he accidentally flipped through a newspaper when he went to the dentist at the age of 17. Then he practiced American English hard and asked professional high-altitude walking masters for his experience. Countless field trips, gathering parners to work out this illegal action... Finally, one morning at the age of 24, he realized his dream! He walked back and forth 8 times without any safety measures on the steel wire connecting the north and south towers above the Twin Towers, and performed various difficult and thrilling actions, and since then all New York has remembered his name. What moved me the most in the film was that Philip nervously nailed the wooden box on the eve of the team action. That moment was the moment when he was closest to death. He imagined that it was his own coffin that was nailed with his own hands, and he was holding such a dead man in his arms. Determined, the moment you finally step on the tightrope, you will have true inner peace, right? And sometimes the so-called dream may not have any great reason. I think this place is beautiful, and I want to come here to walk a tightrope, that's all. For me, before the age of 25, there is no room for my dreams. I study and graduate work step by step. After working for three years, I start to think about my dreams. When I was only 25 years old, I saw the life of 65 years old, so I need to re-cultivate the seeds of a dream. Where to start? Since you don't know what you want, start with what you don't want! It took a year of trial and error to strengthen the actions that made me feel passionate. Finally, I used actions to cultivate this seed, and then watch it take root and sprout, grow into a towering tree, and finally, become a forest. With that in mind, I am really looking forward to an uncertain future!

  • US Customs Agent: [seeing his equipment] And what's all this for?

Philippe Petit: I'm going to hang a high wire between the World Trade Center Towers... And walk on it.

US Customs Agent: Right. Good luck. Next!

  • Barry Greenhouse: It's something only a twisted, antisocial, anarchistic, pissed-off malcontent would have anything to do with.

Barry Greenhouse: [triumphantly] You have your inside man!
