When the little boy Ian was coming of age, his mother took out the gifts his father left to the brothers when he died - a wand and a phoenix gem. This can bring the father back to life one day. When he cast the spell, the older brother was doing a disservice and Dad's upper body didn't show up. In order to meet Dad, Ian and his brother search for another gem, but they end up back where they started. In order to prove himself, my brother went to find the Phoenix gem alone, but opened the seal on the gem. Ian uses magic to reseal the spell, but loses the chance to see his father.

Although it is not as good as Pixar at its peak, it is also a touching work, a road movie of Pixar, and I like the ending very much. The past can only be recalled, and the present is the most precious. The two male protagonists are like Richard & Erlich in Silicon Valley, like father and son. For the missing fatherly love in those years, I am fortunate to have my brother here. The younger brother's self-growth, the gradual restoration of brotherhood, and the willingness in life are tragic and full of ritual. Gina Wei is not only his brother's favorite car, he has inherited his brother's adventurous spirit, and he is also a warrior with a soul. May the brothers fly happily in the wind in the wizarding world forever.

At least three years, maybe five years, I haven't cried like this for a movie. Coinciding with the isolation period, when my roommate was away, I burst into tears, devoted myself to it, and was very hearty. In fact, I didn't expect it before watching it, because the selling point of this film is not tear-jerking at all, and it can even be said that it has no selling point. Compared with Pixar's previous works, the publicity is very low-key. There is nothing more than an occasional film media that put a few vulgar materials, such as "Dutch Brother", "Star Lord", "CP" and so on, without any disturbance. Although it is a fantasy adventure theme, the short 100-minute film length simplifies everything: fate comes, embarks on a journey, overcomes obstacles and fights monsters, happy ending, like a child playing a family with smooth sailing. Without the distractions of the plot that should have been intense and dazzling, all the emotions focus on the deepest core of the story: emotion. This may not be the director's original intention, but it turns corrupt into magic.

  • Barley Lightfoot: [shrunk after Ian's growth spell goes wrong] It worked! The can is huge! And the van is huge! And you're...

    [Looks at himself and realizes]

    Barley Lightfoot: Oh, no!

  • Barley Lightfoot: [Shrunk, in Ian's shirt pocket] I have to use the restroom.

    Ian Lightfoot: Can't it wait?

Barley Lightfoot: All right, your pocket.
