As a workaholic, he became estranged from his family. Therefore when he retired it was difficult for him to return to his family. He still found himself hanging out in the society like a homeless guy. He had no choice but to continually prove his worth and shine just like what he had done before the retirement. He just wanted to be kept scheduled to forget the sense of guilt he had with his family although he was at risk of doing dangerous jobs. There are too many people like Earl who are lost in the balance control of family life and work. Earl likes to be a focus person but remember there are other persons who only want to support their family but end up with being abandoned.
