Nevermore

Recently, there has been a strong interest in the translation of movie titles, probably because of wind and tears.

Before watching this film, I have to admit that I don’t know Poe. I only read about Stephen King and lovecraft on such topics as horror and suspense. Until the end of the film, I, like many audiences, have the prejudice that was deducted from the title. Hat, think this is the story of a great detective who solves a crime, Detective Poe, or the crow, a bird linked to death and rancidity. So I threw this hat to the director and screenwriter, what kind of detective is this, obviously a coward!

But my curiosity and reason grabbed my hand at the same time. She opened Wikipedia with him, and she told me you should see who Poe is.

Here I thank my curiosity and reason.

I threw my prejudice to the ground for the time being, and watched the introduction of Poe's life.

Oh, he's just a delirious, alcoholic weird guy who makes a living by writing, let alone a shit detective. In the years he was about to die, he lost his beloved wife, and was criticized by people who wrote articles. He began to become more abnormal, babbling, mumbling to himself, and delusions of being persecuted.

Imagine that in such a bad life situation, he encountered a serial perverted killer, or Psychopath who imitated his works to kill people. I think John Cusack’s performance is good enough. If this is replaced by the old Poe of the year, it may be possible Already committed suicide. We were all deceived by the male lead's appearance. Just imagine that the real old Po was so ugly and sloppy, and the audience might not complain.

Let us return to the translation of the movie title, The Raven, not Ravens. The Raven is a poem written by Poe. In the poem, the crow from the underworld keeps answering Nevermore Nevermore Nevermore, never again? Never return? Why must it be translated literally, instead of exploring the poetry itself? Don’t the translators have any curiosity about Poe?

He should be translated as never resurrected.

His lover, love, soul, hope.

Never come back. The dead pass away forever, he plunges into his own endless world of darkness, just like a forest full of smog and crows in the movie. Desperate, helpless, confused.

So he wrote cowardly: One life for another.

The night after reading that poem, I also seemed to be under a spell, Nevermore, never sleep, ha ha, I had a dream half awake, the killer in the dream is actually Lao Po, he wears a human skin mask. The plot of my own novel ended the lives of those innocents. The killer was just his split personality. At the end of the dream, he woke up from his dream, and I seemed to be free.

That hat, it seems that it has never existed before, leaving no trace.
