Hello everyone, this is Meng Meng, who is talking to you about movies.
A few days ago, the setting of an R-rated movie surprised me.
A bride married into a wealthy family, but on her wedding night, she was hunted down by all members of the man's family. She needed to live until dawn in a villa full of murderous intentions.
Such a setting can make bloody gore, horror, humanity, and comedy.
So how does the movie actually work?
Just have a chat.
"ready or Not"
The story takes place in a wealthy family, where a beautiful woman married into a wealthy family.
However, there was no trace of happiness in the bride's blunt and awkward smile.
Because she was not recognized by the family members of the man.
The groom's father felt that the girl was unworthy of his beloved young son.
The bridegroom's sister-in-law thinks that the bride will never be able to blend in with the family.
The groom's brother made no secret of his reasons.
Among those who attended the wedding, it seemed that only the groom's mother was kind to the bride.
This is the question that a woman from a poor family must go through to marry into a wealthy family.
Fortunately, the wedding went smoothly.
It was almost midnight after the wedding when the groom suddenly told the bride: According to family tradition, the bride needs to play a game with all family members.
The newcomer only needs to draw a card to decide the content of the game, and after a simple participation, they can officially become a family.
Brides bent on family approval embraced the game.
After the whole family got together and listened to the brief introduction of the family history by the father of the groom, the game officially started.
The bride draws a card: hide and seek.
According to the rules, the bride hides, everyone finds it, and hides until dawn to win.
The uninformed bride happily hides.
Except for the groom, the rest took up guns, crossbows, axes and other weapons.
They are going to hunt the bride.
So what will the sad-faced groom choose?
Can the seemingly weak bride escape her life?
Or did she really beat everyone to pieces?
Let's all go to the movies.
(Note: The following contains minor spoilers)
After watching the entire movie, my first feeling was that the writers wasted this amazing setting.
Is there a funny part? have.
For example, a family member crawls in the toilet to learn how to use a weapon.
Is there a human part? have.
The groom, who was supposed to help the bride, sees his slain relatives, and his humanity takes a turn.
Is there a thriller part? There are also.
The clown who kills with a mask at the beginning is really chilling.
Is there a gory part? There are also. For example, in the last scene, the whole family was blown up (because it was too bloody, it didn't match the picture).
Although there is everything, there is only a little bit of everything, which is not enough.
Not humorous enough, not bloody enough, not dark enough, not scary enough.
Especially in the second act of the chase, the screenwriter even let the bride run out of the mansion, completely giving up the tension and excitement unique to confined spaces, greatly reducing the dramatic conflict.
The setting of the Violent Bride looks promising at first glance, but far below expectations, the plot succeeds in reducing the interweaving of violence and aesthetics.
(Spoilers end)
I can see it, but I'm just a little disappointed.
But if you're getting married, be ready to watch this again.
